5: do you write scenes in a linear fashion or do you write future scenes/dialogues sometimes?

A good question. I actually do both, depending on the story. Some stories come out linearly, others appear piece by piece in random order. So, I don’t have one way to do this. I just try to listen to what part is the brightest in my mind and go with it. When it comes to my big project—Yuriko’s story—I have mostly written it linearly. But usually, some tiny scenes come to mind early on when I start to write a new part. And then I might write those first and then the rest in a linear fashion. Though! There is usually one exception for this: smut. I tend to leave the smut scene last to write no matter where they happen in the story. When I write all of them after the other scenes, I can tie them better with those and keep my mind in the right headspace through all of them.

Reunited at the rooftop of the hotel they were staying in, Scarlett expected the yearly countdown alongside Roo. As they had previously discussed, their trip to Philippines had become a reality, no longer than a few days after Christmas.

Scarlett was having a good, relaxing time, and hoped Roo was enjoying himself as well. The food was undeniably good, there were lot of beautiful places to yet to visit, and they still had a few more days to spend in that country. Nothing bad for a human celebration she barely partook in, she supposed.

However, as the countdown began, Scarlett grew more excited. She took a glass of champagne for herself and her friend, and suddenly a last-minute doubt bugged her mind.

"...I don't know if you like to drink this, but let's just have a toast~?" Her held up her own glass, smiling, as the other people who gathered around counted down further, "for a wonderful and successful new year! Cheers, Roo-chan~"

Just when the count reached zero, the redhead leaned in to give him a sound smooch on the cheek. She was felt giggly after noticing the lipstick stain on his face.

Roo not only would have someone to speak to him but also someone to speak for him (?). If he lacks confidence, Scarlett would gladly boost it, intentionally or not, by doting on him, cheering him up and supporting his achievements. She's not big on verbal affection (loving words, simple compliments), but she's definitely supportive in a more factual way, making him see the things well done and how they could be improved if needed.

Also, Crowlett. She would bring tiny shiny things for him.

On the topic of words, she's also very harsh and blunt. It'd be easy to take her frustration for anger when something goes wrong, and the misconception may or may not lead to an argument and blow out of proportion. While she wouldn't say personally hurtful things, she could be too strict with her conception of efficiency and it could result on Roo getting stressed or feel himself walking on eggshells. They could talk about things, but for some reason I see that hard to achieve when one would rather listen and the other would be louder every time lol?

That's just too much work to keep up, many undeserving people to please, not worth my time. The chosen ones will fall like flies in no time anyway~ And look at you, you fell twice."

Scarlett only furrowed her eyebrows upwards at his sudden promise, letting a snort come out in response, as she only took it as part of the joke she started. But, his slightly flustered reaction was amusing, and 'thank you for not eating me'...? He would probably have to reuse that sentence in the future, the corners of her mouth trembled at the thought, perhaps even right after their conversation was over.

The issue at hand was something to solve first, certainly, if they wanted to get along somehow. However, it made it so much easier that Roo was aware of demonic creatures such as Vampires to begin with, that would save a lot of time.

"How convenient... Well, it's true that there are Vampires everywhere, unfortunately...," She grimaced, "but, yes, I am different from them, because I'm not a Vampire," she explained, taking some kind of pride in that, "and... bloodlust, you say? Ha, I don't have an irresistible need to bite you out of nowhere like they do... Although it would help the healing, I admit, fufu~"

The redhead chuckled, referring to her injured arm, which still stung, "...but I have more class than them. And I won't lose control because haven't tasted you yet! Hahaha~," for some reason, she found her comment unironically funny, "I'm serious, that's the difference between Vampires and... Well, me. I'm not a bloodthirsty predator, unless I have reasons to become one... fufu, I am a Ghoul, no less."

She let the information sink in for a short while, after she purposefully made some unsettling statements. Soon enough, she shoot a question, "...since we are being honest, Roo, are you a human? Or are you also hiding something...?"

Cassie will rather call him by his name “Roo” in public, but if she feels very affectionate, she will call him “Boo” I wasn't quite sure about how Roo will call her, but for her I should say any affectionate gesture is just fine for real, “Cassie”, “my darling”, “my love”. Oh, but never “my doll” that triggers her a lot.
