So according to my dad i just went on a rant to myself

FOR 25 MINUTES

about how shitty season 6 of Lucifer is. Cus I dreamed a dream (Luci and God cover not the original) came on and I was upset that even God got his happy ending yet LUCI WHO WORKED FOR THE ENTIRE SERIES FOR A HAPPY ENDING HAD TO ABANDON HIS FAMILY. I was originally talking to my brother for like five mins but then he tuned me out midway through and i didn't realize so i ended up just yelling at myself about how stupid it was while angrily doing dishes.

Also, I find it stupid that Michael didn't get redemption but other hell people are getting redeemed. Like he only killed like 2 people! There is most definitely worse in hell and cutting his wings off was straight-up cruel.

Season 6 Chloe:

Spends half her time at her boyfriend’s place, handing her still grieving daughter off to her mother whom she not only doesn’t spend a lot of time with, but also has previously shown distrust in terms of babysitting.

Lets a stranger stay in her daughter’s room while she’s away at camp (which is a strange place for a grieving 12 year old to go but I’m going to give Chloe the benefit of the doubt and say that it was Trixie’s idea).

When Trixie has a day break from camp for Maze’s wedding, Chloe hands her off to some unidentified babysitter for the rest of the night despite having not seen her in weeks. And then takes her straight back to camp the next day so she can spend yet more time with her boyfriend and other child.

Forgets that Rory and Trixie are sisters.

Doesn’t suggest her boyfriend include her daughter in their family day.

Shows no reaction or concern that her 12 year old daughter was approached by an unknown man at camp despite her having previously been kidnapped by one of Dan’s “friends”.

Still shows no reaction when she finds out it was the man who killed said daughter’s father. 

Doesn't consider what Lucifer leaving will do to Trixie, or how Trixie’s life turned out in Rory’s timeline.

Doesn’t even try to find a way around the time loop issue, despite knowing God personally.

Lies to Rory for 40-50 years.

Had “a lot going on” while raising Rory, implying she neglected her at least a little due to her job - something that she always berated Dan for.

Doesn't try and help her daughter get over her daddy issues (maybe even has to actively prevent her from healing) in order to maintain the time loop.

Lucifer Writers: Chloe is such a great mom.

Sorry for the rant, but i really need the showrunner, writers, everybody who agreed and worked on the series finale, to come forward and explain it to me. Because how the hell do you build a season around Chloe and Lucifers daughter, spend time building the relationship and that this is something Lucifer truly wants...just to go “nope” in the last 30 minutes of the show? Explain to me how you can hear and listen to the fans for the past 5 seasons, and somehow come to the conclussion that a ending is good where Lucifer leaves Chloe, leaves his child that you spent a season to show that he loves so much...and think this is a Happy Ending for the fans. Because in the end they are together for eternity? Fuck no. Which fan did you listen to who said they want that? We never got Lucifer holding his newborn, never got to see him with grown up trixie, never got to see so many events...because for some reason sitting 24/7 in hell to be therapist. Oh and to pour salt into the wound, you show us how Amanediel who became god, the almighty boss...has the time for his child. What in Satans name did they think here?

I really like the idea of the Lucifer show, I like the actors, but god damn am I fed up with the heterosexual agenda of it.

They say Lucifer is canonically a bisexual character, cool. Makes sense, he's the devil. (Would make even more sense if he canonically f-ed more men to spite Christianity but that's a story for another time) Yet then they go on to only show one glimpse of a man in Lucifer's bed, show one male character he's slept with, and he doesn't even kiss a man on screen once. (I'm not counting Pierce because that was pretend. It wasn't a real 'I'm attracted to you so I'm gonna kiss you' thing.)

Then they proceed to have him drool over the most whitebread cop lady ever, (I love you Lauren German, but Chloe is so boring) and have him COMPLETELY infatuated with her to a point where it takes over his entire life and being.

Slow it down there sailor. Wasn't Lucifer introduced as a bisexual polyamorous and promiscuous character? But he falls for this random ass white lady because?? Oh right! Because she was literally put on earth to screw with Lucifer. YIKES.

So. Takes this detective 3 whole seasons to find out this guy is actually the devil. I mean humm... Isnt she supposed to be a detective?? I get that it's a lot to take in but, there's been plenty of proof before the 'big reveal'. And then what does she do?

SHE TRIES TO KILL HIM. Okay uh. Holy fuck?? This was the point where I became so fucking fed up with this stupid ass ship that I just... Ugh. I would NEVER and I repeat NEVER forgive someone for trying to kill me over something I have no control over. Like hey, yeah he's the devil, but you've gotten to know him and uhh, he ain't bad hunny. That's like someone trying to kill me because I'm gay? Or because I'm a pagan? Because? You believe stereotypes apparently?

YIKES.

I just can't believe the devil, THE ACTUAL DEVIL. Who has existed for thousands of years would fall in love with the most boring detective lady ever.

And if y'all think I'm complaining only because its hetero, I would have loved to see him with Mazikeen, like he was in the comics. BUT I still would have wanted him to be more obvious about his attraction to men.

If you weren't gonna put in representation, then don't hype up the fact that he's bisexual?? And don't even get me started on the double standard of femxfem relationships and malexmale in the show.

I love the character Lucifer Morningstar on his own. But the way they put this forced het ship in our faces and expected us to all love it. Uhm, no thank you.

I loved Chloe and Lucifer's friendship dynamic, but the relationship part just makes me go 🙄🙄🙄 and don't even get me started on (spoiler alert!!!) MORE HETEROSEXUAL SEX SCENESS!!! WOOOHH!! Did I also mention ZERO GAY SEX SCENESSS....... Yeah. Double standards.

I was just replaying season one and I now dislike Lucifer a lot more because of how he does his pact. He basically says that he owns you now and there is no way to say no.

oldest and youngest piss me off but i have a bias to lucifer bc i like the whole... possessive thing, sexually speaking. thats how i took that moment.

i can understand why it would piss everyone else off, and having gone back to that scene i feel the same way. the way he speaks about you... kind of like youre an item on a list? like calm down bro lmao

though, and this isnt an excuse, we have to consider that his sin literally protects him from becoming your submissive bitch. (it goes out the window in s2 tho bc he basically is your bitch- as are the other brothers anyways)

Umh unpopular opinion but everyone seems to be slowly *forgiving* michael for some reason when he really would have /gone further/ with Chloe that night before she shot him?? Like she made it ovbious she wanted to sleep with him and he- knowing she thought he was Lucifer and *pretending* to be Lucifer would have let it happen?? That is in no way consentual. Like even if they didn’t in the end and she knew all along it makes no difference bc the fact that he didn’t stop her is already a violation

I um.. in all honestly I found that part icky too :| And I completely agree that even if she wasn’t going to sleep with him because she knew it wasn’t Lucifer- he had no clue about it and he seemed to be completely on board. That is baffling to me- that he thinks he is somehow allowed to do that, that he has that type of power.

And if I’m being completely c o m p l e t e l y honest- even kissing Chloe when she though he was Lucifer was already a violation. It’s easy to let it go because then they revealed that Chloe knew all along meaning she, in a way, did give consent because she didn’t try to stop him. But what concerns me is that Michael obviously knows he isn’t Lucifer. Yet he- thinking it is completely a ok- oversteps her boundaries and repeatedly tries to convince her he is who he isn’t and is prepared to, most likely, sexually engage with her just to keep up the facade.

I understand it probably wasn’t the writers intention to do this- and truly it’s so easy to ignore or not even see as a problem because at the end of the day this is just a story about aN eViL tWiN and he’s supposed to be evil and flawed and “oh its just a kiss whatever” . But as someone who has experienced this type of violation I can say without a doubt that seeing characters on screen unapolagetically invading someone else’s space/body knowing they have no right is... That’s why it hurts a little when the fandom seems to be moving on so quickly.

Don’t get me wrong- there’s nothing wrong with forgiving a character and seeing them through more than just their wrong-doings (or in some cases bad writing)- I mean this is a show about The Devil and I’ve grown to love and accept his character despite some questionable or violent things he’s done. But also it’s incredibly important to always remember: we can love a character but also be aware of their flaws at the same time- nobody is perfect. Forgive but never forget type of thing, I suppose. I just really really hope they will in some way acknowledge it in 5B or get an apology from Michael or something. Because this truly does concern the bigger concept of consent that, to me and I’m sure others out there, is an incredibly personal and important issue.

My headcanons:

Lucifer went to science camp and said goodbye to Trixie.

Lucifer didn't leave immediately, he stayed with Chloe until Rory was born, but didn't go home with them because it would be harder to leave.

Lucifer would often come to see Chloe and they spent time together without Rory knowing. They would often talk about how things were doing in Hell and Chloe would help him with some particular soul. Meanwhile Chloe would talk about things at home and show him photos and how everything was going at her new Lt position.

When Chloe was on her deathbed Trixie was there the whole time, only left when Rory was coming back because at that point Trixie understood everything and gave time for her mom and sister to talk.

After Chloe died she and Lucifer would often take trips to heaven so they could see their family and their friends. Then they would go back to hell and continue helping the souls.

There, fixed it for me. I don't care, it's all true now. If I have to accept Rory and time travel, then that's how this is going to be.
