Tagged by @akaiikowrites and HOLY SHIT, friend! You have a lot of WIPs! The last time my WIP folder looked like that I had to take a shot of whiskey, bite on a block of wood, and delete everything because it was giving me anxiety. (This worked wonders for my mental health at the time but I do not advise it for obvious reasons.)
The only actual WIPs I currently have are labeled “Legendary Defenders of the Old Kingdom” and “A Generation Lost in Space” (both Voltron).
Also teeeeechnically in my WIP folder are “Surface Tension” (Supernatural) and “The Next Galahad” (Kingsman). But I should probably, after over three years, finally accept that these are not WIPs and are in fact dead fics.
OK SO you asked about the Sheith Big Bang for all of these, so here we go.
1. Of the fics you’ve written, which is your favorite and why?
I think my Moana au (those imprints your soul left behind) might be my favourite, just because it was so much fun fitting Sheith and the other characters into, what I hope, was a different take to the movie.
Top 3 would be this, Every Stumble and Each Misfire, and Any Less. I do love my BB a lot but these ones are also pretty close to my heart.
Honourable mention to: For your actions are mine, I have a soft spot for that one…
2. Which scene was your favorite to write in of desert grains and cosmic dust?
To be honest, probably the cathartic scene near the end when they finally sort through the mess of what’s happening in Keith’s head.
But I did so love writing his dream sections too…
3. Which part of ODGACD was hardest to write?
Definitely the chapter after the base, the training deck scenes until the moment he starts getting those nightmares. Those were dragging and I had to cut out some parts to make it, hopefully, more interesting :’D

4. If you could change anything in ODGACD, what would it be?
Probably make it a little more coherent in terms of what was going on with Keith, add on more to the scene with the aliens, and have a bigger role for Hunk. I was pretty late in submitting the bang so it meant I might not have been as clear as I wanted to be, in a bid to get it posted asap.
5. Did you make an outline for ODGCD? Did you stick to it?
I DID. I made a huge outline and had tons of notes but because it turned out so long, I couldn’t keep everything I’d originally planned. But at least 80% of the outline made it to the final fic!
6. Which scenes did you cut, and which were added in ODGCD?
So near the end of the bang fic, they were supposed to explore some of Keith’s memories in a lot more depth. But i realised that not only would that drag on the scene endlessly, it would also not work for the timing, considering at that point Keith was dying >>. They don’t have time to sit around watching memories!! Pidge was supposed to see and talk about the memory of her father there, but I had to push it to a hidden mention and leave the discussion to the epilogue instead.
Oh also, the actual timeline of the plot was supposed to happen over weeks, but it wouldn’t fit with canon (because I trapped myself into absolutely making this fit into canon OTL) so I condensed it down to three days instead. Phew.
The whole thing with Keith’s father was completely new. He really was supposed to have abandoned his son and gone off, but then we got that vlog and Keith’s issues were with his mom, and well. I wanted to spin that a different way. Also, Kolivan, Slav and Antok were later additions to the plot, as well as the other BOM member…
7. Who was your favorite character to write in ODGCD?
If it’s not already obvious, it’s Keith, but Coran is a very close second! He’s a lot of fun haha.
I also loved my alien OC Veroy a lot. They deserved better…
8. Which came first, the title or the fic?
Definitely the fic, it’s always the fic that comes first for me. Midway through writing, I sit around yelling at myself because I can never seem to come up with a good title loool. Most of my titles are song lyrics or random phrases that struck me that felt fitting for it.
9. Which idea came to you first in ODGCD?
The scene in the abandoned Galra base with Keith and Pidge, the curse and all were some of the first few ideas that I had for this fic.
10. What are some facts readers may not know about ODGCD?
Well like I said earlier, I never meant to go so much into Keith’s dad and what he’d done, but pretty soon I realised that a lot of how Keith is now stemmed from losing his parents. And eventually the fic shaped up to revolve around that as a main point.
Veroy and Baral were lovers but that was never a thing in my original drafts. But somehow I just felt compelled to add to their backstory because their characters meant a lot to me. It made sense that they were together, and it was like a reflection of Sheith to me. The tragic version, I guess you could say…
Shiro’s pov! That wasn’t planned either. I meant to use Keith’s pov throughout the fic, but after a point, I felt I needed more of his thoughts and motives, and it felt like the perfect place to break off from Keith and get a little bit more from Shiro.
Keith’s dad worked in the Galaxy Garrison before he came across Keith’s mother. I might write more about that in some sequel oneshots, maybe. And now that we’ve met Krolia and Sam, I really want to write more in this verse…

I loved the Nightwatch series. I think this is one I always recommend. I just enjoy them so much. I will admit I haven’t read a good book in ages. I have a few on my cart and have already abused all the ones in my library (though they aren’t good enough to recommend) so hopefully I will one day remedy that.
I’ve been eyeing his Dark Materials for a while now. I’ve heard so many good things that I just want to take a stab at them.
Kindred Spirits: Tell me about fictional characters who have a beautiful and sincere friendship.
I’m sort of drawing a blank right now, but I keep thinking of Steven Universe. Garnet is such a lovely soul. And the way she behaves with everyone, and how everyone sort of relies on her is so nice. It’s a lovely friendship.O captain my captain: Is there any scene in a movie or book bursting of such grandness you could cry?
The ending in Pan’s Labyrinth. Just that whole movie. It was grand, heartwrenching, and beautiful. It was the kind of beauty that hurt.
