My endless list of favourite horses: Lucky Chappy. [Ridden by ?? ]
Lucky Chappy
Lucky Chappy
An international sort of horse, Lucky Chappy has raced in Italy, American, Dubai, and Australia, though he was bred in Ireland. He ran second in both the El Camino Real and Virginia Derbies, and he was third in the 2012 Hollywood Derby. He is currently racing in Australia
Though Lucky Chappy is officially registered as bay, he is only partially so. In fact, he seems to be split, with his front legs and chest being mostly bay, but his middle and hind end displaying grey coloring. He also possess a "skunk tail". His coloring is apparently inherited from his mother, stakes-winning British mare Germane, who has been described as "practically a zebra"

So many color questions lately >.> Another super good example is Lucky Chappy who is registered as a bay but is definitely NOT a bay... he's like a dark roan... he confused a lot of reporters when he was 2 at the Breeders' Cup. I personally call them whatever color I think they are... I called Pluck a black horse most of the time... since obviously no one's going to be right 100%.
Definitely NOT a bay
Should be considered black. Pluck is registered as dark bay/brown, same as Sunday Silence was
