Damian used to have a caretaker when he was still being raised by the League of Assassins. The caretaker was the person closest to Damian and raised him like he was his own. On terrible days where Damian would slip up during training and get injured, his caretaker would take care of him the best to their ability without making it so obvious that Damian’s wounds had been treated. Damian saw his caretaker more than his own mother (and of course more than his father) His caretaker was the first supporting parental figure that Damian had ever been exposed to. Then one day it was revealed that his caretaker was actually planning to betray the League. Ra’s ordered his execution, not only because he was a traitor but also because he wanted to test Damian’s resolve and loyalty to the league. So as a test, he also ordered that Damian be the one to kill the person who would once clean his wounds. Of course, Damian did. He then built the resolve to not trust people, since they might try to use him in the long run.
