God, it's almost 4am and i've made it past the halfway mark on Patricia Cornwell's Blow Fly. The only reason i'm stopping is because i have to work tomorrow. 😂
I'd be lying to myself if i deny i continue to read it because Lucy's gay. Haha well in all seriousness, i did not even know there's a gay character when i started getting into the series. And i started on the book where Lucy's having an affair with Carrie the psychopath. It was an "oh shit someone's gay! " moment. It was a huge fucking bonus. I'm a sucker for forensic medicine. And throw in an lgbt character into the mix, I was elated 😂 last time i got like this is with the Rizzoli and Isles series by Tess Gerritsen (ah to be blessed with both books and the tv show; don't even get me started on Jane and Maura 😂)
Point is i refuse to believe i'm the only one who loves Kay Scarpetta, Lucy Farinelli and Jamie Berger. Damn these strong, independent women!
So where the heck are u people. DM me. Come join the fangirl in these crazy moments. 😂
Highly recommend the series for people who like crime novels with kickass female leads. It's the whole package. ❤️
I don't go here, but this is for those who do.
Wow what a ride. Gosh, glad i have the next one. I searched and collected every kay scarpetta book i can get my hands on (harassed my friends to do the same 😂) and this pandemic gave me the time to start reading through them a lot faster than before.
Really thankful i found this series. It has everything i wanted.
Crime procedurals. Forensic medicine. A strong independent woman lead. And her tech genius, gay niece.
If this gets converted to a series, i'll go cray cray.
WHY THO, WHY HASN'T IT BEEN CONVERTED TO A SERIES.
On to the next~
P. S Was lowkey shipping Jamie Berger with the Doc in the beginning
Then highkey shipping Berger with Lucy in the end 😂
“Lucy! Why are you crying?” She wrapped around me, sobbing. Clinging to me with fierce desperation, she cried, “I don’t want you to die! I don’t want you to die!”
Patricia Cornwell ~ Postmortem
Where did Lucy Boo come from?” A drop of water dribbled down his chin and he wiped it with the back of his hand. I stumbled at first. “A pet name I had for her until she was in kindergarten. Then she didn’t want to be called that anymore. Sometimes I still slip.” I paused again as I imagined her back then.
Point of Origin by Patricia Cornwell
"I’m not an angel." Lucy says and truer words were never spoken.’
