The rest of 1765 passed in a blur.

Like Charley had predicted, the Stamp Act didn't impact the Tates all too much. Yes, he caught word of protests in Boston and York City and up and down the colonies, but no such thing occurred in Henford-on-Bagley. The townsfolk went on with their lives, the only change being that they bought less books and paper.

So the year was one of peace and rest. Nothing very notable happened, and that was perfectly alright. Nothing notable mean nothing wrong.

Lucy's first birthday rolled around in early 1765.

She looked quite like Eleanor, but with Charley's brown eyes.

Although Lucy had been quite a calm infant, her wilder side was starting to show as she began toddling around. Lucy-Goosey, as Charley tended to call her, especially loved playing out by the chicken coop, where she made many friends.

As the current baby of the house, Lucy was a bit spoiled by her parents, but none of her siblings minded very much. After all, she was very cute.

Eleanor's pregnancy flew by easier and faster than her last, and before she knew it she was in labor.

The midwife was called in time, and she helped Eleanor through the birth.

In the early hours of February 26, 1764, Lucy Jane Tate was born. She was quite small, but otherwise healthy.

The older kids weren't very interested in their new sister (too involved in their prank war), but Caleb was excited to be the big boy, and he loved to talk and play with Lucy, although he did find playing with a baby a bit one-sided. Still, he decided then and there that he would be the best older brother ever.
