The thing that in my opinion makes Coriolanus a more interesting/terrifying 'villain' is that he thought he was in the right.

He had no choice but to kill Bobbin- same with Mayfair. These deaths can actually been seen with him in the right but Sejanus and Lucy?

He thought he was doing what was for the best for Sejanus. Outing his plan so that he'd be caught and sent back to the Capitol. Coryo thought he was helping him. And when Sejanus ended up being executed instead of being just shipped back, Coryo figured that he brought that on himself.

Then with Lucy; in his mind she deserved it. He had twisted the snake attack into her wanting to kill him and so that justified him shooting at her. We know that she didn't want him dead but to him that will always seem to be the case.

These were just the deaths he caused where he thought he was in the right, there's other smaller incidents of this but that's for another post.
