Ruins of an automotive garage in Ludlow, California, August 24, 2018.  How well does the desert preserve things?  Generators haven’t been original equipment in American cars since 1964.

Approaching Ludlow, California along the National Trails Highway on August 31, 2009, and encountering three abandoned buildings on the north side of the road.  A burned out cafe is followed by a boarded up gas station which is followed by a gutted garage.  The rest of Ludlow wasn’t exactly hopping either.  BTW, “generators” were last installed (on American cars at least) in 1964, being replaced by alternators thereafter.
