Christmas Traditions

(3below X Reader)

You scream as a loud crash sounds throughout your house. Holding the tinsel in your hands like a whip and looking towards the front of your home expecting a fight you pause when you see it's just Vex and the kids.

The Akiridion had kicked down your door. Taking in deep breaths and trying to process what just happened the twins rush into the room you were in and look around panicked. Making eye contact with you and seeing nothing was wromg Vex calmly steps over the door after Lugg enters and picks it up. Pushing the door against the wall he pushes it back into place. Hopefully Krel would actually fix the door before they left.

"(Y/N) are you alright?" Aja demands. She's in front of you looking worried as she looks over your form. You blink confused before nodding slowly wondering why they were here and out of their human disguises.

"Ummm... yeah... yeah I'm fine." You respond. "What... What was that for?" You question staring at your now kind of fixed but obviously broken door?

"We've been hailing you for hours! Why haven't you responded?" Krel demands. He touches you gently poking your arms checking you for any injuries before Aja pushes him aside to do the same. She holds your jaw in her hands staring into your eyes concerned as she studies your face.

"Wha...?" You mumble barely able to move your jaw in her powerful grip. Glancing at your mouth she oh's and takes her hand away so you can speak. Rubbing your jaw still kind of shell shocked at their sudden appearance Krel grabs your shoulders shaking you.

Okay what was happening? Why were they panicking?

"Hours! We've been trying to get ahold of you for hours!" Krel whines. "We were..." He paused face turning a dark blue before turning to Aja. "Well Aja!" He points at his sister letting go of you. "She was worried about you! And Vex! Him too!!!" Krel states. The soldier meets your tired gaze and gives a kurt nod as Krel continues to ramble. "I knew everything was just fine!" He adds looking away while Aja glares at him.

Vex snorts at the royalties behavior and turns away from the door. He comes into the half decorated room as walking into a winter wonderland plays in the background. Glancing over at your tree he tilts his head before looking at you.

"Indeed. After several failed hailing attempts during your awake hours we were concerned for your saftey and came to check on you." He hums. "We thought the BrotherHood may have kidnapped you or perhaps a foolish human had tried to harm you." Smiling at their thoughtfulness you don't remember your phone making any noise other than the Chirstmas music you were curentully playing.

"I'm sorry I worried you guys." You state going to your phone. The tinsel was still in hand so you put it around your shoulders. Grabbing your phone pausing the Christmas music you hum seeing several messages and missed calls. They had been trying to contact you for quit some time. "Oh my ringer was off. Sorry guys I was listening to music while decorating. I didn't hear anything." You hum turning your notification sound back on.

Aja hits the back of Krels head seeming displeased at crashing into your house and her brother flinches. "What was that for?" He demands before they begin hissing in an alien language and hitting each other. You laugh shaking your head at the behavior before looking back at your phone. Humming you see they were the only ones who left any messages.

"Decorating?" Vex inquires and you hum. Looking up at him he notices the tinsel around your neck and his face lights up. "Preparing for battle are you? We would've helped had you told us!" He says excited. Looking at the red tinsel then him you smile shaking your head.

"Oh no no no! No bloodshed." You state snickering. "Sorry Vex green and red are just the colors for this hoilday." You explain. "I'm decorating the house for Christmas."

"Christ mas? What is this Christ mas you speak of?" He asks confused. The twins stop bickering and turn towards you curious. Krel pokes the tree that he had just noticed.

"Are these supposed to be inside?" Ignoring his repulsed look at the fact you had nature inside the house you smile at their interest.

"Christmas." You correct politely. "I guess I should've guessed that you guys wouldn't know being from another planet and all. It's curentully what we call the holiday season as there's a lot of hoildays going on right now." You explain. "I celebrate Christmas but there's lots of hoildays this season!" Taking the tinsel off your shoulders ans hanging it on your wall over some pictures Vex stares poking it.

"Fascinating." He hums.

"What is this Christmas you celebrate and why? And what are these other hoildays? What do you do?" Aja asks curiously. Thinking about how to explain you pause as Lugg grabs one of the ornaments off your tree and begins playing with it trying to bite into it.

"Hey!" You scold playfully picking the dog up. "No eating any of my hard work." You tease tickling his belly. He yips and flips demanding belly rubs. Giving into his demand you hum wondering how best to describe the hoilday.

"Well..." You hum. Deep in thought you pause your bellyrubs and Luug flips around before licking at your face. "Eh eh eh. No. No kisses." You state tapping his nose. Going to the kitchen and grabbing him a treat you let him munch on something edible before paying attention to the twins again. "... It's complicated but... Christmas is typically celebrated by Christians and focuses on their religion. But it doesn't have to be religious." You hum. "It's mostly about giving gifts and spending time with family and friends or the ones you love. Everyone has their own traditions but typically you get a tree and put the presents under there and then you open them all together and have a party of sorts. There's also seasonal food and drinks you can have." You explain as best you can. "I just finished some Christmas cookies if you want some. That's one of my traditions. Baking cookies." You hum and they all follow you back to the kitchen to try your human sweets.

"Fascinating." Krel states intrigued at the thought of multiple hoildays and traditions for each one. Akiridion-5 didn't have such customs. He grabs a heavily frosted ornament cookie before he shoves it in his mouth and hums deeply enjoying it.

"These are quit good (Y/N)! Are these only for your Christmas?" Aja asks eating one of her own. Vex takes a dark red one chewing while you continue to talk.

"They're decorated for Christmas but cookies can be for any hoilday." You hum grabbing a tree cookie. "As for other hoildays there's also Hanukkah which Toby celebrates because he's Jewish. It's a religious hoilday. They light a candle for seven days and have their own traditions seperate from Christmas but they also give presents. Winter Solstice is another one, it's a paegan hoilday celebrating the coming of Winter and a good year I think. Shannon celebrates that one with her mom.

Kwanza's another one. I don't know a lot about that hoilday but I think Darci celebrates if you want to ask her. Mary celebrates the Chinese New Year with her parents but they also celebrate Christmas. There's a lot of different ways to enjoy this season depending on your culture and beliefs. Some people even do multiple hoildays with their family." You hum shifting so Lugg is more comfortable in your arms. You give him a chunk of your cookie and he yips happy.

"How lively! Can we do this Christmas with you?" Aja asks excited. Smiling at the idea you nod.

"Of course. You can start by giving me a hand." Putting Lugg down on a pillow he continues chewing his treat while you instruct the twins and Vex on what to do to decorate your house. Tinsel gets hung, bows get tied, lights are put up and the whole time you tell Aja, Krel, and Vex all you know about Christmas and every Winter hoilday you can think of.

In the end you wanted Mother to participate in this Christmas celebration. She was such an important part of the family but she couldn't really move so you decided to have the Christmas celebration at the twins house instead of yours. It was also more convenient since their house was so much bigger and a lot of people would be coming.

Stuart was joining you and he said he was excited since this would be his first Christmas on Earth with friends.

Placing your recently bought gifts under the tree Vex informed you he'd watched the Prince and Princess very closely as they kept trying to open their presents early. But he made sure they didn't so you could all enjoy this Chirst mas together. At one point he had almost gave in to their plees but you'd insisted they had to wait til the 25th to open presents so he waited til the 25th.

It was finally the 25th, Christmas Day. But you all couldn't open the presents quit yet. You still had to make a worthy Chirstmas Dinner for the aliens very first Earth Christmas ever!

The Blanks were more than happy to help you make more Christmas cookies and Lucie got excited to learn how to make all these new and fun foods. Aja and Krel watched as you ran around the kitchen enjoying yourself depsite the choas.

Placing the cooling cookies down, the Twins, Vex, and Stuart frosted the baked cookies as you helped make dinner.

You were cooking Ham, Turkey, Mashed potatos, cooked green beans, and the Chirstmas cookies. But you'd also set out a bowl of chips and made a meat platter and cracker plater so you could snack as you opened presents. The twins cheered when you finally finsihed and everyone rushed to try said food.

"Be careful champs it's still hot!" Ricky warns piling ham on Aja's plate.

"Only the freshest and bestest for out growing babies!" Lucy coos giving a heaping helping of mashed potatoes to Krel. You can't help but smile at their odd but endearing behavior.

The blanks didn't eat themselves but they were happy that you all were eating what they helped make.

"Merry Christmas (Y/N)." Stuart says taking some of the bean dip he'd brought for the crackers, his plate was piled high with food and he looked happy. You nod feeling tired but satisfied as you made your own plate getting ready to sit down and open presents.

"Oh (Y/N) I almost forgot." Looking up Mother beamed down several cups of hot coco with whipped cream, marshmellows, and a swirl of cinnamon. "You mentioned hot coco was one of your Hoilday traditions. Merry Christmas." She states happy.

"Thankyou Mother! That was very thoughtful!" Excited you grab a cup and take a sip sighing at the warmth.

"Come on! Let's go!" Aja and Krel pull at you begging you to sit down so everyone can start.

You smile as you sit down and drinking your coco. Glancing around at everybody and the silly Chirstmas things you'd gotten everyone you feel your chest fill with warmth.

The twins wore matching Santa hats. Lucy was sporting a festive Christmas dress with a tinsel crown, while Ricky wore elf ears and a Chisrtmas vest. Lugg had jingle bells on his collar and after some persuasion Vex wore the reindeer antlers after you'd begged him with the twins. Stuart was wearing a snowman tophat and had a fake Rudolph nose on. And you had an elf hat with a matching Christmas sweater making you feel festive.

Sipping your coco watching everyone talk Aja excitedly passes out the presents to everyone acting out the roll of "Santa"

Sitting next to you while Krel takes the other side Aja grabs your arm excited.

"Oh oh! Open mine first! Open mine first!" She begs and you smile choosing hers despite Krels pouting face. Pealing back the paper you take out your gift and smile.

It had been a long night of unwrapping presents only to end up in the midst of a wrapping paper war once everyone was done. Everyone seemed pleased with their presents and had full bellies making you happy.

As your getting ready to leave for the night arms full of bags and boxes containing your gifts Krel taps your shoulder. Looking up at him curious as you slip on your coat he fidgets turning to look behind him nervously but everyone was busy.

"I still do not understand this strange earth custom hoilday but..." Krel shoves a present into your arms. "Here." He says swallowing nervously. "... I didn't want Aja to see and tease me..." He mumbles quietly.

Holding the surpise gift with a smile you unwrap it slowly. Holding the strange object in hand you pause.

It was a holo screen.

Clicking it on like Krel had shown you when you first found out they were aliens you pause anoumoured at the image it showed.

The picture was one of you Krel Aja Stuart Vex the Blanks and Lugg. It was taken the day after you met them and smiling softly you could feel the happiness in the picture.

"Thankyou Krel. It's perfect." You hum. He nods blushing.

Maybe he and Aja would tell you how they felt one day but for now this small gift would have to do. He valued your frienship over everything else and was glad to call you his trusted human ally.

"Merry Christmas." He states and clicking the screen off you hug him before pulling away with a smile. Merry Christmas.

Fiddling with your game trying to beat the level you hum as Krel and Aja walk in.

"What are you doing?" Krel questions confused and you don't respond as you focus on your game.

"They are playing a strategic battle simulation. They are concentrating so don't distract them." Vex states from the kitchen. He sips his coffee amused as you continue to mash buttons as you run around the ships haul. The graphics weren't nearly as good as back home and the ships design was terrible but he admired you humans for trying.

When you'd originally asked to plug your console into Mothers system he'd said no, not wanting you to distract Aja and Krel with Earthly games from their duties. However once you mentioned it was similar to a battle simulation and Mother told him she said you could if he also consented he relented. Still sipping his coffee he watched amused as you defended your ship from alien invaders. In his head he debates whether you playing this was a good idea or not.

"Oh is that the new game? Eli said it's been sold out for months how did you get it?" Krel demands plopping next to you as he shakes your arm. Smiling at him ignoring the shaking as you keep playing Aja sits on the other side of you.

"A video game? Lively! Can I play next?" She asks. You tilt your head so they see a box not far from you.

"I brought multiple controllers so we could play. Mother has a faster system than my P.C and can make a bigger screen so I thought it'd be more fun to play here." You hum trying to beat the level. You also thought everyone could use a little fun after the 49-B scare.

"Behind you-" Vex warns and you hum turning to shoot the intruder.

"Thanks got it." You state continuing to scout your broken ship. You fix your ship as you run around, killing off the invaders before they can kill you.

"Okay but seriously how did you get this?" Krel demands as he watches you play. He cheers as you take out one of the bigger bounty hunters. "It's primitive for our world but for earth tech it's as advanced as you can get." Krel states and you shrug continuing to play.

"Who cares brother! Isn't it just fun that we get to play?" Aja questions. "I love Earth it's so lively!" She states getting excited as you get closer and closer to winning, the taskbar in the corner almost completed as you continue going through the ship.

"Okay but seriously who did you kill to get this?" Krel demands as you shoot another intruder. Chuckling you look at Krel amused.

"Stuart pulled some strings for me and got it shipped to my house. He doesn't like games like this but he knows I do." You explain.

"Oh oh powerup powerup!" Aja calls and you smile jumping to get the medical kit. Fixing your ship and successfully killing off the invaders. "Yes!" You state leveling up. "Come on we can start a new game." You state turning on their controllers and connecting them to the system.

Krel smiles bumping your shoulder as he begins making his character, chosing an outfit and a job. Aja does the same getting excited as she choses a Star captain. Looking back you see Lucy and Rick watching as Vex nods at you.

"You want a try at it?" You ask but Vex just shakes his head laughing. Smiling as Aja and Krel enter their names you pick up your controller ready to start a new game.
