Prologue

“Luk, I know you feel the same.” Delicate hands reached over and squeezed mine. My eyes widened as I finally understood what was going on.

My feet were planted as I stood on the tracks. Apparently that fight or flight instinct people are born with seems to have frozen on me. The headlights of the train were getting closer and the whistle shrieked at me, as if warning me that my window of opportunity to get off the tracks was closing. I needed to move. I had to get out of the way. But I couldn’t. A part of me welcomed what was about to happen; the other part, the much saner part, shouted “Get out of the way! Don’t die! Not like this!” My heartbeat kicked into high gear and I threw myself off the tracks, to safety.

I shook my head and glanced down at her. In reality, I had just dodged a kiss. My mind had always over-dramatized actual events in my life. I guess it was the only way to survive the boredom of Piedmont, North Dakota. Whatever the case, me standing up, flipping over a chair to move out of the line of kiss made things, well, awkward.

If you’ve ever been in an uncomfortable situation with a person that you just kind of rejected, which I’m sure has happened to some of you, you know the moment, the moment when you realize how oblivious you’ve been. The only words that come out of your mouth are curse words or a string of ”Uh, um, I-uh…” Then there’s the realization on the face of the rejectee; the one where they realize that you weren’t hinting anything at all and they’ve managed to embarrass themselves with their admittance.

Well, the only way to go from here was to a) Run away. Pfft. Cowardly. B) Try to talk it out. Not my forte. Or C) Turn beet red and continue to stammer incoherently. I’m not proud of what I did, but… I chose A.

Now, it wasn’t a high point in my life, actually, it was probably a low moment in my life. But when your best friend’s younger sister has just leaned in for a kiss that you rejected, you’ll understand my need to run. That’s not even including the minor factor that said brother is the leader of your trifecta for the CIA. If that’s not double motivation to kick my ass, I don’t know what is.

Mending Ties || Evans Family

Sam and Lukas Evans call home after not having spoken to their parents since the hiatus before season two of Now Kiss, when Sam decided to join the show as well. This call happened in February when Mattluk was on their trip in New York.

Lukas Evans 2:36 pm     [sits with Sam in front of the computer as they get ready to skype their parents] Ready?

 Sam Evans 2:37 pm     [rubs his hands together  bit nervously, but nods slowly] Yeah...

 Lukas Evans 2:38 pm     [takes a deep breath and presses call, waiting for the other side to answer]

 Sam Evans 2:38 pm     [watches the screen and taps his foot wondering if they will answer]

 Jethro Evans 2:38 pm     [hears the computer ringing and frowns, shouting to Martha] Would you get that?

 Martha Evans 2:41 pm     [isn't too sure how to work these things but walks over wondering if it's Bertha finally ready to give her the recipe for the pie but she almost drops what she is holding.] J...it's...Sam and Lukas... [clutches her chest not knowing what to do]

 Jethro Evans 2:42 pm     [stops breathing for a second] Are you sure? [gets up to the computer and checks, seeing his sons' names. Without thinking, he presses answer with video and sees his boys for the first time in years]

 Martha Evans 2:43 pm     [pinches her nose to keep from crying, this is too much for her to take in so suddenly] Gaah...[runs to grab tissue]

 Lukas Evans 2:43 pm     [gasps and his eyes widened cause he didn't expect them to answer]

 Sam Evans 2:44 pm     [glances back through the camera and bites his bottom lip as their dad pops up on the screen] Hey...dad...

 Jethro Evans 2:46 pm     [almost smiles and then glances at his wife, remembering the pain they've been through for the past couple of years] Hey dad? That's all you got for us? Two years and this is how you decide to talk to each other?

 Sam Evans 2:47 pm     [feels the sting of the words as his father says them and looks over to Luk, wondering whaat they should say in response]

 Lukas Evans 2:48 pm     [frowns and shakes his head] That's not fair. You're the ones who never answered our calls. [His tone was soft, but he was upset. He glanced at Sam and bites his lip]

 Sam Evans 2:50 pm     [nods to Luk's words catching a silent agreement as the twins usually do] We did try to call before, you can't pretend we didn't.

 Martha Evans 2:51 pm     [moves back to look at the screen crying a bit and moving closer to jethro, holding him for support]

 Jethro Evans 2:54 pm     [holds Martha and grimaces before getting angry] How dare you pin this on us? We didn't support your life and we couldn't let you make such an impression on Stevie and Stacy. This. Is. NOT. Our. Fault [getting angry, he presses the button to hang up]

 Lukas Evans 2:56 pm     [winces and sighs, looking down] I guess I should've known better.

 Sam Evans 2:56 pm     Shit...[he swears and glances at his brother] At least we tried...we saw them...[shakes his head and trails off]

 Lukas Evans 2:58 pm     [nods] Yea, we still have each other, bro. It's okay... [swallows and looks away]

 Sam Evans 2:59 pm     [sighs and puts his arm on Luk's back, rubbing it for both their own support] Always have each other.

 Martha Evans 3:00 pm     [takes a moment to cry but pulls herself together] Are you really going to do this Jeth? Our boys just called...I can't just ignore this way...not anymore...now that i've seen them..i just...[runs over to the computer and clicks the names with a shaky hand letting it ring] We need to fix this.

 Jethro Evans 3:03 pm     [takes a deep breath] Martha... How... How can I look at them when I know that Stacy calls out for Luk when she cries. And when Stevie always wants to know why Sam isn't around to throw the ball around. [stops himself and looks at his wife] Okay... We'll fix it. [reaches for her hand and looks at the computer screen]

 Lukas Evans 3:04 pm     [raises a brow and glances at the screen] Are they calling back?

 Sam Evans 3:05 pm     [double glances and looks at the screen] They are...[carefully moves to answer the call and clicks to]

 Jethro Evans 3:06 pm     [takes another deep breath] I'm sorry I hung up, I was angry and... [glances at Martha] We're ready to talk.

 Martha Evans 3:08 pm     [nods carefully, taking her stance holding up a hand] The only condition is we are going to let each other speak without interruption. If we have to hear you out, you have to hear us out too.

 Lukas Evans 3:09 pm     [looks at Sam and nods] Okay... I can do that.

 Sam Evans 3:11 pm     [shrugs and let's out a long breath, like a sigh] Wouldn't expect anything less.

 Jethro Evans 3:12 pm     [nods stiffly] You called us first, you had something you wanted to say?

 Lukas Evans 3:16 pm     [bites his lip and rubs the back of his neck] Okay well, its kind of a long story but I'll start with the latest. I'm... I'm thinking of proposing to my girlfriend. [glances up at his parents] I met her...on the show. And I've been living with her.

 Lukas Evans 3:19 pm     [licks his lips] And that's not it. We have two kids... Two wonderful children.... Not together. She had Kayla when she was younger and only recently got custody of her again. And well, Nook, he's mine. [make a thoughtful face] Well, he's two going on three and it's a longer story, but the mother is out of the picture. It's between me and my friend Puck and, well... it's details, really...

 Martha Evans 3:21 pm     [takes deep breaths, knowing she hasn't seen them in a few years so that anything she hears may shock them. It's been years but she can still tell them apart.  It feels more like ten years that one or two.] Lukas...getting engaged...granchildren....and Sam?[She wants to slowly hear from both of them]

 Sam Evans 3:26 pm     [has been listening to Luk's words, none of it news to him but there for both of them supporting. He hears his name and gazes back, holding up his arm first to show the cast there] I...was in a bit of an accident about a month ago...Pretty shaken up and still hate cars, but I'm okay now for the most part. [He pauses and scratches the back of his head.] I'm living with my girlfriend too...not proposing...but I do love her. We're in New York together. Also I don't have kids, just puppies.

 Sam Evans 3:29 pm     Going to NYU Tisch for film studies right now. I...want to make sci-fi someday. Or just anything that works out.

 Jethro Evans 3:31 pm     [keeps his face blank but his chest hurts. He realizes its because he's missed so much.] Fiance's, girlfriends, grandchildren, and puppies? And school for Sam? Sci-fi? [smiles softly] What about  you Luk? Work? School?

 Lukas Evans 3:33 pm     [wrinkles his nose] Nah. I finished in high school. [shrugs] But I'm not a bum. I've got a business. We're actually a franchise now, I guess. Me and my friend Matt opened up a Stop N Go, remember? We have a few in Africa, a few here in California. And we're thinking about opening some in Australia... for reasons. [chewed on the inside of his cheek]

 Martha Evans 3:36 pm     [grips jethro's hand] This is all so much right now...I'm just glad both of you are happy and..well. [ She reaches to grab another tissue, the rest of her words uninterpretable]

 Jethro Evans 3:37 pm     [coughs to hide laughter and nods] I don't really know what to say, but.... it's good to see you both. [pats Martha's back]

 Sam Evans 3:39 pm     How are...[he trails off thinking for a moment. Nervously moving onward.] How are Stacy and Stevie?

 Lukas Evans 3:39 pm     [smiles and then nods wanting to see his other siblings]

 Jethro Evans 3:43 pm     [looks at his watch and sighs] They're still at school, boys. They won't be around for another hour or so. [glances up and swallows down hard] You... you could call back for them... later today?

 Sam Evans 3:45 pm     [grins slowly , having missed his younger siblings a lot] Yeah...we would like that if they want to talk to us.

 Jethro Evans 3:58 pm     [smiles and nods] So we'll see you two later today, then? [holds his wife, feeling lighter]

 Sam Evans 3:59 pm     [nods back slowly] Yes, and any time that you want to talk.

 Lukas Evans 3:59 pm     [nods] We're here. You have our numbers...

 Martha Evans 4:00 pm     I love you boys...and thank you for calling [she sniffles]

 Lukas Evans 4:01 pm

    [smiles a little wider] Love you too momma. [waits for Sam to say it too and then hangs up]

T’was the night before Christmas,

And all through the spaceship not a creature was stirring, except for the Evans and Hudson twins.

It was approximately the year 2227 and the boys were trading not so secret Santa gifts. They had each drawn a name from the hat, but with deductive reasoning, it was kind of obvious who had gotten who. Finn grinned goofily as he grabbed the newspaper wrapped box and tore it up. His eyes widened as he got the one thing he really wanted this year. Green and red antlers! He took them out and slipped them onto his head. “Is that fetch, or is that fetch?!” He nodded pointing to his antler wear and Matt gave him a look. “Stop trying to make ‘fetch’ happen, Finn. It’s not gonna happen!” He stuck his nose up in the air and shrugged. “But you’re welcome anyway.” Finn paid no mind to the rudeness of his brother and tackled him with love.

Luk and Sam looked at each other and shrugged as Luk handed his brother a box covered in glitter and stickers and smiled widely. “I think you’ll like it.” He nodded and Sam lifted the box, breaking it on his knee as if he was breaking a coconut or something. Inside, in one half of the box, there lay a sonic screwdriver, just like the one in the old English shows thousands of years ago. Sam had been obsessed with it for awhile now; even Luk enjoyed it, so Luk knew it would be the perfect gift this Christmas. Sam started to tear up and Luk reached out, placing a hand on his shoulder. “It’s okay to cry. No one’s gonna think any less of you.” He nodded pursing his lips trying to keep it together. With that, Sam let go and sobbed, holding the screwdriver to his chest and whispering “My Precious”.

As Sam continued to weep, the others turned away, giving him a moment, because it was kind of creepy.  Finn jumped up. “MY TURN!” He laughed and fee-fi-fo-fummed to under the couch, pulling out a box with rope tied around it. Luk frowned as he was handed the shady object and opened it carefully. He tilted his head as he picked up the rope, and the gift with it. Pulling away the wrapping paper away he became slack jawed. “Is this... Did you…. YES!” He ran to the bathroom and tied the top of the rope to a hook on top of the shower. Hanging was the Soap-On-A-Rope XXIV, the latest edition of the hanging soap for the lazy. It came with a built in iPod and some extra soap for when you run out. Luk ran back to the living room and tackle hugged Finn. “Muchos Gracias Hermano!” He went Spanish when he was excited or nervous. This one was excited, or so he hoped.

The last gift receiver was none other than Matt the Brat. He wasn’t really a brat, but it rhymed so they called him that, sometimes.  Sam handed Matt a bag with frills hanging out of it and ribbons throwing up over the edge of the bag. He grinned and tapped his foot eagerly, waiting for Matt to pull out his present. At first, Matt was stupefied. He didn’t understand what he was holding in his hand. It was round with blue all over it. He glanced up at Sam, confused. “What is it?” Sam rolled his eyes. “It’s Earth! How it was first seen through the Drakovia Telescope!” Matt swallowed hard and sighed. He had met Drake Drakovia once. He and Luk had gone on a vacation for it. The man was a foreign genius, but alas, they had to part ways. Sam was still tapping with a Cheshire grin on his face. “There’s more! Open it! Open it! OPEN! IT!” He shouted. Matt jumped back a little and quickly opened the globe. It opened half way to reveal a big bag of M&M’s, a rare Earth candy, and a fluffy pink pencil that Matt had had his eyes on for quite some time. Matt jumped up on the couch and squealed. “OH MAH GAWD SAM!” He proceeded to dance in a way that, if I were to describe to you right now, would be illegal, so I will not. The other three guys just backed away slowly and let Matt do his thing.

About half an hour later, after sipping on warm milk and watching “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown”, they were a couple holidays off, but it happened every year, they cuddled up and were reminiscing on the good ol’ days, when it happened.

The sirens on the GraysonMaster 3000 were going crazy. Crazier than that one time they fed a Fabray bacon. A voice on the incoming signal sounded. “Danger, Luk Robinson. Danger, Luk Robinson.” On the incoming screen, Davlin appeared. He was the mayor of Reptarland, the place they had once called home. Luk ran to the screen. “Dav? What’s wrong? You can’t call a Code Robinson with no reason.” Davlin inhaled deeply. “Ava’s daughter is in trouble. She needs your help. You’re her only hope.” Luk’s eyes widened and he pressed the button to his left. A red and white cap flopped onto his head and he turned the front side of it to the back. The other men gasped. Luk only did that when he meant business. Davlin nodded, glad the blonde acknowledged the seriousness of the situation. “Give me the coordinates. I’ll put the ship in hyper drive and we’ll be there ASAP.”

Davlin gave him the location and wished them well. Luk was tempted to ask how Ava was dealing with this. She’d been his high school love, but then she’d had Kayla with another man. It broke his heart, but he accepted it. He’d met the little girl a few times before. She was the spitting image of her mother. Luk knew he owed it to her to find her and save her.  He pulled out a compass and thought really hard about where he wanted to go, realizing that asking for the coordinates was pointless. Once the compass pointed northwest, he put the Winnebago into gear and drove off.

Asylum room Part Deux || Lava + Anon

Two threesomes in a couple of hours. Luk was starting to think he wasn't worth the one on one time, but he had Lava to prove that wrong, so he was okay. He threw on a tight fitting white shirt and some white wash jeans. He figured it would match the asylum room. He had a pretty good idea of who this was, especially with Lava's not so subtle at all hints. Luk smiled but didn't want to make assumptions because he was pretty much oblivious and an idiot when it came to guessing and stuff. He quickly made his way to the room with pillowy walls and jumped around a little as he waited for Ava and the anon.

Is three a crowd? || Luk, Sam, Anon

Luk was kind of wary. He had just gotten here, met up with two people, in a non-sexual way... well besides Lava. So this would be his first actual meet-up since his return. He put on some jeans and a v-neck t-shirt and some shoes. The shoes weren't important. The important part was that this anon wanted to meet, not only with him, but with his brother too... at the same time. Luk had never really thought of his brother in that way. The sexual way. Well, there was that one time, he thought he was looking in a mirror, but that was mostly it. So they'd agreed. They wouldn't touch and would only go through with it if they really liked the person who'd asked. As he made his way to the Honeymoon Suite, Luk rubbed his face and entered the room, sitting on the bed. Waiting to find out who set this up, he sat down on the bed and lay back.
