Growing up, I absolutely adored Nizlopi. I wasn't a mega fan by any means but the one song of theirs that I knew, The JCB Song, was just brilliant to me. It spoke of so much - the excitement of imagination, the requirement of escapism, the coping mechanisms of dealing with bullying and good parenting in the face of struggles.
Somehow, I am now friends with them and able to come along to their shows on a moments notice and capture emotional moments of their reunion such as this, stepping into the crowd to perform Drop Your Guard, as the audience acts like they never left. I had chills filming it. I hope you enjoy this, and if so, why not share it with someone.

I just played my first gig in two months. I was rusty, nervous, and happy to be singing for people, and back on the horse. Back in the Nizlopi days, together with our community, we set up an infrastructure which meant that we could focus in pretty well on gigging and music... Since leaving the safety of that harbour, I've been exploring. Exploring how to live a whole life that isn't overly consumed by the music business. How to be involved in the Community, and activist projects I love and believe in. How to be part of a good circle of deepening friendships. To be healthy and do some good inner work, some healing, and learning. To find my self as the cliché goes... I've done that, I'm pretty darn happy. And I have an album 3 years in the making, that I am RIDICULOUSLY proud of due to this process. And now after diverging and learning for a few years ( and doing some periods of very focused writing and recording) I feel ready to go in again on the music front. I feel a sense of the time is NOW to go in with the gigs and the whole shebang, and deliver these songs to the world. To see what is currently available please click here to go to my youtube channel.
