someone write abt luke being observant of the reader. knows their coffee order, nervous tics, etc and essentially his responses and actions being his love language
ugh and like luke was the youngest in the group growing up, he was so used to just watching on the sidelines rather than playing because quinn or jack would always insist they go first because they are older. so luke is used to observing and taking notes about stuff (like he knows when jack is about to get huffy over something or when to intervene before quinn starts debating very loudly just to make a point)
and that habit kinda sticks with him as he gets older. it helps him notice things about his friends and teammates. it helps him have a whole new outlook on hockey and the game. it helps him know when to push and when to sit back with jack when they come off a tough loss
and it helps him notice so much with reader. first, because he is just head over heels and crushing big time and he is trying to work up the courage to finally go up to her and ask her out. but even after they get into a relationship, he doesn't even realise the way he subconsciously just notes wee things about her until someone calls him out on it
and most of the time he shrugs it off, but he does get all blushy and flustered at the way the reader gets all heart-eyed and soft about it. and he has such a wee smug grin on his face whenever he manages to surprise her with something he has remembered
