A song for Donald
I was going to make a tongue-in-cheek post about how “Xanadu”, the title song from the 1980 movie musical starring Olivia Newton John, Michael Beck and Gene Kelly, was about Donald’s monomaniacal work on the Xanadu engine, but if you actually listen to the lyrics through that sinister lens, they actually kinda work.
A place where nobody dared to go The love that we came to know They call it Xanadu And now, open your eyes and see what we have made is real We are in Xanadu A million lights are dancing and you are, a shooting star An everlasting world and you're here with me, eternally Xanadu, Xanadu (Now we are here) in Xanadu Xanadu, Xanadu (Now we are here) in Xanadu Xanadu, your neon lights will shine for you, Xanadu The love that echoes of long ago You needed the world to know They are in Xanadu The dream that came through a million years That lived through all the tears It came to Xanadu A million lights are dancing and you are, a shooting star An everlasting world and you're here with me, eternally Xanadu, Xanadu (Now we are here) in Xanadu Xanadu, Xanadu (Now we are here) in Xanadu Xanadu, your neon lights will shine for you, Xanadu Now that I'm here, now that you're near, in Xanadu
Donald, Joseph and Lula went to Colossal Cave (a place where nobody dared to go). The love that they came to know broke down, so Joseph made “An everlasting world where you’re here with me, eternally”.
Xanadu’s neon lights will shine for you. The love that echoes of long ago. Donald needed the world to know.
PS if you haven’t seen Xanadu, it’s bonkers fun and really, really bad. One of my favorite movies.

I don't mind a drunk, but I hate riddles.

Thank you for your application to the Gaston Trust for Imagined Architecture's annual fellowship...
I’ve caught the fandom tea bug, of course, ever since that Poe Dameron tea came into my life, and after some tinkering (and a lot of help from this post) I have a little set of Kentucky Route Zero blends that I think are ready for prime time. Various levels of caffeination, ranging from Drive All Night Forever to Painstakingly Draft Your ½-Inch-Scale Elevation Drawing to Take A Nap In The Back Room Of The Antique Shop.
If you end up trying one of these -- or anything else from Adagio -- and it’s your first time shopping there, you can use the code 1246771801 for $5 off (if it’s expired when you use it, lemme know and I’ll get you a new one).
