This morning, I promised Misti Cooper she would meet Rabbi Yossi Dalfin at the Melrose Place Farmers Market...I KNEW he'd be there with the Lulav and the Etrog as it's that time of year again... Sukkot. I'm a spiritual soul..not a religious soul...and there are certain customs and traditions in all facets of life I enjoy...this being one of them. The Lulav is made up of the Date Palm, The leaves of the Myrtle Tree and The Willow Tree, The Divine Masculine. Palm refers to the backbone for uprightness. Myrtle corresponds to the eyes for enlightenment. Willow represents the lips and the power of prayer or intention The Etrog is a Citron (Lemon like). It symbolizes the heart; the place of understanding and wisdom, the Divine Feminine.
