While on my last playthrough of Other M (yes I know self inflicted torment) I thought about that game's Wave Beam only passing through transparent surfaces. I realized how it didn't need to really be crazy energy waves for that, but could just be crazy light.

Y'all.

How come the Light Beam never had any "shooting through glass" puzzles in echoes. That would've been great! Beautiful way to distinguish it from the Plasma Beam of the previous game beyond colour.

since infrared and UV radiation are frequently referred to as "light" despite being invisible to the naked human eye, it stands to reason that the entire EM spectrum could be called "light"

Which means the Light Beam from Metroid Prime 2 is literally just shooting the entire EM spectrum at mfs, unadulterated.
