Sigh. Today had been awful. Asteroid just wanted to make things right. Pluto to have a nice life, Lunar to arrive and things be okay, a day which they wouldn't drink themself to sleep. If you can call that sleep. Asteroid didn't feel rested. They just felt like laying down and forgetting that they existed. It was quite a way to their bedroom. They left the kitchen - after cleaning that mess they did in the table - and passed by a few rooms, including.... Pause. They could swear they heard something from this room in particular. Not any room. Lunar's room. A million thoughts reached Asteroid's mind, regarding what had happened. They were still afraid of Lunar being disappointed at them, but their concern for their friend was stronger this time. Breathing heavily, Asteroid gently opened the door and popped a head in. "...Lunar? It's me, Asteroid. May I come in?"
Entering the medical bay with wobbly steps, Lunar headed towards the bed, kneeling down next to it. His face was pale with worry, hands grabbing the bed's mattress roughly. "Pluto!" ((--Lunar))
Pluto had gotten up at the sound of his name, and saw Lunar kneeling there. He was relieved to see Lunar, but something about Lunar was making him get frightened. Lunar's mask was the source of Pluto's fear, he was getting reminded of Strike's mask and what Strike had done to his arm. Then he started to hide under the covers of the bed while crying a little bit.
((Here, have a thing I wrote earlier on my phone and edited on my laptop. Lunarmun approved of this btw ;3 ))
"......ngh. What..?"
"Ya' woke up, good." Lunar's voice was comforting, yet worried. He had just entered his ship, carrying a passed out Asteroid with him.
He was glad that he managed to find Asteroid's SOS sign. A meteor shower wrecked the messenger's ship and they barely managed to send a message to the Space Bombers, crying for help. Asteroid had escaped alive from this accident, but they were injured. Their body was filled with bruises and their right arm had a bleeding cut. Lunar had checked them real quick, but he couldn't tell if they had broken a bone, for example.
But he was so happy that Asteroid had woken up, at least...
"Gosh, Lunar..." Asteroid’s head snuggled closer to his chest, letting out a pained whimper. "The ship... I didn't meant to.."
Lunar soothingly shushed his friend and walked further into his ship. He had prepared a small bed of sorts, in case the other Bomber needed it. For now he still held Asteroid, however. They seemed shaken up over what happened. "Asteroid, don't worry about that now. Ya' need to rest."
Asteroid was about to say something, when they moved in a way which hurt their arm. This caused the messenger to let out a small yell of pain. Lunar carefully placed them in the bed and sat near them, patting their back. Despite trying to look calm for his friend, he was really worried on the inside.
"Hm... I wanted to take ya' to a doctor, but we can't leave this arm like that." Lunar whispered and looked down to the injured limb. He gently pushed Asteroid into the bed and went to a counter, where he had left a first aid kit box. It didn't had much, but he could at least wrap some bandages around the arm, or even give Asteroid some painkillers if needed.
Asteroid was quiet. They allowed Lunar to bandage their arm; they nodded or shook their head to respond any questions, but they didn't really say much. Lunar was patient with them. He could imagine that Asteroid had gone through a scary experience, they needed some time to calm down.
After finishing with the bandages, Lunar got up and with caution and placed a blanket on them. Then he sat on the bed again and eyed his friend. "....Asteroid. If ya' don't mind me askin'.... Ya' can drive well, I have seen ya' drivin'. How did ya' crash like that?"
The other Bomber was very shocked by the question, to a point Lunar thought they weren't going to respond. However, after a short silence, they actually talked. "I.. I stayed awake last night, spent too much time driving. I think I fell asleep while driving. In some point I was driving, in another, I had crashed. I don't know.."
Lunar sighed and shook his head. "We have talked about this, Asteroid. If ya' drive and travel, stop every now and then to rest. We can wait for ya', but please, be careful."
Asteroid gave out another whimper, but before they could say anything, Lunar placed a hand on their head for a gentle pat. "I promise, I'm not angry, I'm just worried.” His hand moved to hold one of Asteroid’s own hands, a hand which isn’t much hurt. “When I saw your ship like that I.. I thought we were going to lose ya'. I'm.. so glad ya' survived the crash, Asteroid. Please, don't ever do something like this again."
Silence. Asteroid just looked deeply to Lunar's eyes and nodded. Lunar had to drive the ship, but first he wanted to make sure that Asteroid would be okay. He only left to drive when he noticed, the messenger had fallen asleep on the bed. He was happy with this, though. The way home is a long one and Asteroid needed to rest.
"Asteroid, can ya' explain to me what the stain on the couch is?" ((Lunar))
“Oh hey Lunar- uh.” Silence. Asteroid may or may not have drank a bit of coffee and it may have fallen on the couch. They thought that they had managed to clean the stain out though. Oh uh.
“It... was an accident, I apologize.” They spoke, lowering down their head. “I’ll try to clean that stain the best I can, promise.”
"Oh uh. Yeah it is. I thought I had told you about it?" Asteroid placed the hat in their head again and giggled. They could swear they had at least showed up without it. But then again, they barely take the hat off. Even when they go to sleep they use it, it's warm (except in summer, but still, hardly take the hat off).
"That makes two of us. Those anons better be prepared..." ((--Lunar))
“Lunar!” Asteroid called, feeling happy that they aren’t alone in this fight. Even if they would do anything for their fellow Space Bombers’ sake, it was comforting to have help with fighting.
“Thank goodness you’re here. I don’t know what to do with those Anons..”
