I really dont like they way MKEK are pushing Rosegarden. Im Aroace and because its kinda hard to find explicit rep, I tend to be satisfied with (main) characters just not showing any attraction or not ending up in an explicitly romantic/sexual relationship by the end of the series. Most of the time, those characters tend to be male (especially if theyre the main characters) which is, yknow. I dont think its the worst obviously, but it would still be nice to see female characters in non-romantic/non-sexual relationships. And it kinda seemed like thats what they were initially gonna do with Ruby, but now... I mean, atleast Ruby and Oscar are still allowed to interact with people besides their future romantic partner but who knows how long thats gonna last
honestly this is a valid take, especially since it didn’t seem like ruby showed any romantic interest in anyone, yet the moment a boy her age came into the cast; of course there had to be some romantic undertones that completely ignore the people ruby has actually shown deep emotional connections towards, like penny. oscar just unfortunately suffers with being off screen for 90% of his runtime for any of his relationships to be developed properly, let alone a romantic one. he’s barely a character yet.
that is a major worry of mine, that if mkek do make these two an item, that ruby’s time will be restricted to only oscar as is pretty characteristic of how they’ve written pairings so far. oscar didn’t really have that issue considering a. he’s Offscreen Pine 90% of the time & b. the time he does have, he’s with ruby. who were they going to restrict him from, jnr?
