Any HC for their lunch break adventures? How they'd pay/share? What kind of place they often pick? What kind of food/dessert they'd have? they Do they share or try each other's food? Who's more adventurous? Who's better with chopsticks?
They’d probably trade off. The more expensive places that Lena frequents, she’d pay because as much as Kara hates it when Lena pays for everything, she admits that her reporter salary couldn’t afford that on a regular basis and Lena really doesn’t mind paying for Kara. But Kara does take it on herself to pay at least once in a while for both of them, and when they go to more reasonable places, they split the bill. (Though since Kara eats more, Lena usually ends up paying more since they go 50/50. But like I said, Lena doesn’t mind. She has more money than she knows what to realistically do with and she enjoys Kara’s company so much that paying for lunch is such a small price to pay).
What kind of place they often pick?
Initially, it was Kara introducing Lena to small, local, hole in the wall places that not very many people knew about. Kara knows about all the best places in the city because she eats takeout so much. And Lena, while not being a complete snob about food (she is human after all), hasn’t experienced all of the places that Kara would talk about and Kara felt an obligation to give Lena those experiences.
But, Lena does like treating Kara to nicer places that she would normally frequent. Kara would always be excited to experience it, but the portions are so small, it was an unspoken rule between the two of them that after, they would get donuts from this boutique bakery that both Kara and Lena liked and take it back to Lena’s office if she didn’t have any meetings after lunch.
And after a while, they would get adventurous and try new places that neither of them had been to. Lots of times it would be new places that Lena was able to get reservations or early visits to because she’s a Luthor and she’d bring Kara as her plus one.
What kind of food/dessert they'd have?
Everything and anything really. Kara is not a picky eater at all, though she obviously has her favorite things; pizza and potstickers. When in doubt they’d go to a local pizzeria or Chinese place. Lena didn’t mind, but she did take it upon herself to make Kara eat healthy food at least once a week. Even though Kara doesn’t really need it, rather she just needs the calories. But Lena does have her weight to watch. And her health. She isn’t a walking trashcan like Kara.
Do they share or try each other's food?
Yes! Kara is usually really protective of her food. But Lena is the exception. They do that cute “feeding each other” thing that couples do (even if they’re not a couple). Also, Lena doesn’t have the same appetite as Kara so whatever Lena doesn’t finish, Kara always does.
Probably Kara. She’s from an alien planet with all sorts of different tastes and foods than Earth. She’s probably willing to try anything at least once. I mean, when she first came to Earth and was offered all these new foods, that’s probably the epitome of adventurous.
Lena isn’t a picky eater either by any means, she just doesn’t have the same philosophy that “Any food is good food” that Kara has. But Kara does drag her along to different places and has her try all sorts of different foods that she didn’t get to experience growing up as a Luthor. Which Lena appreciates Kara for.
Who's better with chopsticks?
Kara. Everyone would think Lena because as a businesswoman, she probably has a lot of business deals with cultures that use them. And that’s not to say she’s bad with them, she just doesn’t really care to use them when she’s not on business. Kara loves her Chinese food and wanted to explore different cultures when she was still learning about Earth and chopsticks intrigued her so much that she wanted to learn to master them. Especially because they were associated with her favorite ethnic food type.
Sometimes Lena just can’t get away from the office and Kara picks up food and brings it to Lena (to Jess’ dismay because Kara keeps fucking up Lena’s schedule) just to make sure Lena eats. Kara doesn’t stay all the time, especially when Lena is actually busy with paperwork. Or if she’s in a meeting through lunch, she leaves the food with Jess. Lena is always appreciative that Kara cares enough about her to bring her food, knowing that she would probably have foregone lunch if she hadn’t.
Occasionally, Kara gets caught up with an article (though not nearly as often as Lena gets caught up at L-Corp) and then Lena brings Kara food. Kara is always surprised to hear Lena knocking at her office door, offering her friend coffee and food. Kara always insists that Lena stay to eat with her and even if Lena has a meeting that she should be at, she rearranges her schedule so she can spend lunch time with Kara, because even though it started out as maybe a monthly thing, it’s turned into a ritual that happens at least 2 to 3 times a week.
