A protection & comforting spell jar to make you feel safe at home
I love making spell jars -- the act itself is so comforting to me. Like a recipe you can’t screw up, you carefully pick the right ingredients... I follow traditional magickal properties, but I also let my intuition (and creativity) guide me.
With spell jars, focus your intent with each little bit of herb or material you funnel into your bottle. Think of why you chose the ingredient and what you’d like to take from it. When you have the jar with you in the future, remember these whys and whats and keep in mind what you hoped to gain from this spell.
How to create an anti-anxiety spell jar
Now, this is one of a million combinations you can use. This is what I found comforting to me when I created it, and I used ingredients that brought me contentment and that safe-at-home feeling when I thought of them. Feel free to change it up, but take inspiration from this individual jar.
Light a tea candle, something that you’ll be able to pour wax from when you’ve sealed your bottle
Wave your empty jar over the air above the flame to cleanse, and imagine that this vessel is now perfectly clear and waiting for the intentions you’ll fill it with
Start layering your ingredients, using a little funnel or rolled up piece of paper, and think mindfully about each as you pour them in
Be sure to start with the more fine ingredients like salt or cinnamon and work your way up to more coarse materials
Seal the jar with it’s lid and (carefully!) either dip it into the melted wax of your candle or pour the wax on top to seal
Keep it with you where you know you’ll need it the most - maybe on your altar, maybe on your desk at work, or maybe in your makeup case or your nightstand

✨ Oregano (comfort + strength + joy)
✨ Rosemary (concentration + love + protection)
✨ Crushed candy canes/peppermint (comfort + nostalgic memories)
