      “ HEY, you’re awake. ” A relieved smile came to take his lips upon the sight and he greeted her with a bowl of stew he had prepared for his weakened guest. He carefully shut the door before he made his way over to pull up a chair to sit by her bedside. 

      They were currently situated at the Seiros Adventurer’s Guild’s guest room and the mercenary had tasked himself with watching over her for the time being. After having found her collapsed in the middle of the forest, Richard immediately brought her back to the guild in a pnic, unable to leave her alone in such a state when there was a possibility that her fate could’ve taken a turn for the worst so here they were. “ Here, I brought you some food. Figured you should get some food in you before you collapse again but more importantly, how are you feeling ? I was pretty shocked to find you passed out in the middle of the forest but good thing I found you before any of the strays got to you. Do you remember anything that happened ? ”

“Do you really thing either of us would be satisfied with once?”

“I wanted to be a useful knight this time, do you really -- no. No, never mind.” Does she really dislike him, want so badly to watch him fail again, does she want things to break apart again and steer it different, want to test him, hate him still -- no. She wouldn’t. Guinevere is good, he knows this, and she loves him. He knows that, too.

She loves him, she just doesn’t have the heavy taste of leas and the incessant buzzing to remind her why that can’t be the case, why she can’t let it stay like that. (Lancelot wants to touch her, he remembers the feeling of Guinevere leaning into him, he remembers her kiss and wishes he remembered it more viscerally, could take her request exactly as simply as she phrases it.

Berserker is not a strong individual. He steps before Guinevere and takes her cheeks in hand. His touch is restrained, but barely. “Ask me... one more.” Give her the impetus, as his ability to control himself wavers, when he wants and wants and wants and now it can be her decision if he falls. Nothing good can come to him -- so surely this can’t be good. And yet it’s hard to remember that when Guinevere’s in front of him, even though he’s only trepidation and ash, he could be (or have) something else. The world narrows itself sharply, myopic.

she tries to act as if this is merely incidental, though lancelot doesn’t pick up that he should go along with it. instead he watches guinevere, focused on her with a more idle level of intent than anything particularly focused. he likes watching her move - there’s an elegance to all her actions. a smooth flowing like that of a river over small rock, the movement of her sleeves’ fabric like the sun reflecting off water.

he ducks his head for her when her hands near him, allowing the queen to crown him. “would you like me to make one for you? i don’t think it’ll be as neat, though.”

She is bold. They’ve both been preoccupied for a while, the shared job of ‘Servant’ does not always mean that they have the same duties. Guinevere sits next to him for the first time in a while (still, even now, he’s not good at seeking her out, too stuck in the habit of leaving the Queen be even after Artoria’s given them permission).

He doesn’t greet her with anything more than a half-indistinguishable word and a nod, but he’s also not (particularly) on edge. It’s a greeting, and he is allowed to be casual with her, here.

Quietly, he reaches over and takes her hand on his. Idle and without a glance to her face, just on her hand folded in his.

                                           Emerald hues of the King enclose themselves in hopes of enjoying this gesture though was confused at the same time. Did the KING OF KNIGHTS do anything deserving for anyone? She rarely received these...only knowing this was proper for displaying gratitude by another’s accomplishes. SABER wouldn’t deny such things and enjoy the moment if her QUEEN decides it. “ ...GUINEVERE, have I done something to deserve these? It is quite unexpected but you may resume if this is your desire. ”
