“...Your Highness?”
An awkward hush fell over the guests in attendance as Viktor approached the newest queen of Aurelia. He could hear the way that the guards shifted, low growls of warning filling the room as the supposed murderer of the previous king passed by. It hadn’t been easy, making the conscious choice to attend the coronation when every one of his people wished to greet Catarina in a much more violent way. However, this was a role that he had to play no matter what, even if the very idea of peace between their kingdoms was in shambles at their feet before they had even exchanged a word. Yet standing there before her, knowing that she had lost so much as a result of his own naivete, was a heavy burden to bear.
“I just wanted to extend my congratulations for your succession, as well as my condolences for your loss. I know that this must be a difficult time for you, given everything that has happened.”
