Final Fantasy III PC 2014
2025 marks the 35th anniversary of Final Fantasy III.
To celebrate, Square-Enix released this illustration by Kaori Nishio who did artwork for Bravely Second's 10th Anniversary.
Interestingly, while Luneth and Arc are using 'unusual' jobs in the form of Ninja and Onion Knight, Refia is using the White Mage-connected Devout while Ingus is using the Geomancer job (a job which he is surprisingly associated with numerous times)
They also released a scant few pieces of development docs for the game (notably artwork of a dragon and a Lamia) and are currently selling Moogle merchandise, due to FF3 being the first game to feature Moogles (not counting their intended-but-scrapped appearance in FF2)

Seriously, Luneth/Onion Knight is actually formative of my teenage years that I had Onion as my pfp for 10 years across different socials. He was my main in Dissidia (all of them) and seeing Luneth here as his own person is such a moment for me. The kids of FF3 will always be dear to me.

I beat the game yesterday and I love it. I think the final dungeon is way too over hated. I’m currently playing ff2, and I feel similarly.

Absolutely no hate to Luneth I think he’s pretty based but genuinely what was the point in creating him if Square Enix only uses Onion Knight as the FF3 rep? Like he was made so he could be like the other final fantasy games and have a predefined character with story as opposed to a nameless character but then in like every other spin off they use the nameless onion knight like huh???
