I didn’t even clean up the base sketch, and the more refined sketch is not up to the usual quality, but just because it’s messy doesn’t mean it looks aesthetically pleasing, you know? Messy can be very enjoyable~

Alright! I’ll start off with a simple one!

Sign Language Origin

The reason Michael knows sign language is because of Dr. Loomis. Around age nine Dr. Loomis realized that talking to the child alone was providing nothing on the state of his progress due to the lack of feedback Michael would give him. Wanting to accommodate Michael’s desire not to speak Dr. Loomis got him a sign language teacher who would come in twice a week and teach him to sign. The thing is he responded to the teacher, always parroting back what they would have him repeat and responding (albeit in a more simplified manner) whenever they asked a question. When asked a question by Dr. Loomis Michael was always still, refusing to communicate with the doctor in any way, shape, or form. At first, Dr. Loomis thought the teacher was lying when they said that he responded to them. However, Dr. Loomis did not realize that the child harbored a certain hate in his heart for the psychiatrist that made him unresponsive and their relationship irreparable.

Michael continued with learning sign language for five more years, which at that point he became fully fluent.

Why didn’t/doesn’t he like Dr. Loomis? Well, that’s another headcanon~
