I’m going to attempt to express how grateful I am to this amazing group of people. I’ve just gotten back from a 10-day tour with Lungs and Limbs, who contacted me at the end of July and asked if I’d be interested in traveling with them up to Oregon and Washington for some shows. All I had to do was hop in the bus (pictured) with a bunch of strangers and hope that they weren’t too creepy/inconsiderate/angry/mean/sketchy for me to handle for 10 days. Fortunately, they’re so much more awesome than I would have ever hoped for! Lungs and Limbs are a group of laid-back, friendly, funny, intelligent, talented people who are excellent conversationalists (bonus on those long drives). They took a chance on me as well, inviting me into their home on the road, and I’m so thankful that they did. This tour made me feel like I was back in my natural habitat: traveling the open road in a big ol' vehicle with a group of friends who become like family. We stayed at truck stops in the bus, slept on floors, made a Crossfit gym our home for a few days (thanks, Travis!), played an outdoor show in the rain, drank lots of coffee and met lots of great and/or wacky people. I would do it again in a second, so hopefully we’ll figure out getting Survival Guide and Lungs and Limbs back on the road together sometime next year. Love you, L&L!! You’re the best! And all of your songs are stuck in my head on repeat. ❤️
