DIY Vegan Blueberry Face, Body, and Hand Scrub
While I’m still working on a little video of my recent trip to NYC, I decided to share with you a beloved recipe of mine, my vegan friendly blueberry scrub! It’s extremely easy to make and you probably have most of the ingredients at home!!
This scrub has an antioxidant overload in it! It’s OK for oily skin and for dry, but sensitive skinned people should probably test it out on their arm for 5 minutes then wipe it off to make sure it doesn’t leave rashes or skin that just doesn't look right. So here’s the recipe (oh, and one more thing, this is estimated because you can add more of anything to make the consistency better to your liking):
- a hand full of blueberries (these have a lot of antioxidants)
- honey, added to taste (use lemon juice or blueberry puree as a substitute if preferred)
- salt, about one cup (sea salt is even better to use for this recipe)
- ground coffee, also about one cup
- packet or two of green tea (or any tea but green tea is the creme de la creme)
Step One: crush blueberries in a bowl with a fork, then use a whisk to mash them up till they are clumpy, but not too solid.
Step Two: add packet or two of tea into blueberry mash and mix
Step Three: add salt and coffee into mixture, and combine
Step Four: add honey or either of its substitutes until the desired consistency is reached
Step Five: put in a jar or a more realistic container, like a cup or whatever you have lying around
Use this whenever you’d like!!!
Sorry for the not-so-summery DIY, but I think its so cool to share recipes with ya gals! See ya next time, peace out!! - britt
