Sort of a Signal Boost

Recently I decided to look into what Vyvian Looper—the artist also known as Luuli, formerly FaceHead—was up to of late, and not only discovered that she has been very musically and otherwise artistically productive, but had recently run into some very serious legal trouble trying to help a friend of hers. In any number of states, the possession of an ounce of medical marijuana would probably not be a huge issue, but this was Utah, and Looper is trans*. Do the math here.

This might sound out of the blue—and believe you me, I did not expect to be up at half past five in the morning doing this; I am a not a dramatic person and I don’t like telling people what to do—but please, if it is within your power, I would like you to chip in and help this really fascinating woman stay out of prison. I wish that I could do more than this: I am myself living below the poverty line right now, so my only recourse is to spread the word. When I am in a position to contribute, you bet I will.

Hey so, I guess I don't tumblr very hard, but like, this lady I know was arrested in Utah with an ounce of Marijuana. She's trans and faces time in a male facility. Trying to get this out there so this horrible fate doesn't befall her. She needs help with legal fees, and if you check the fund page there's a whole bunch more information.
