I'm so interested in the political consequences of this plan for the gods.
like i wonder how this plan with mortal gods using the beacons to reincarnate would be put in place. because vasselheim would immediately want at least a single beacon for themselves so they can house their deities safely with no fear of them dying too far from a beacon. but Leylas and the dynasty would certainly have issues with that bc it goes against their goals of reuniting the pieces of the luxon
there would also be the issue of betrayer gods who agree to this plan, they would need some people to advocate and make sure they're allowed proximity to a beacon but vasselheim and the dynasty would each have issues with that (the dynasty itself wanted to remove the influence of the betrayers and lolth) unless the pantheon came together on some agreement there idk.
so I wonder if perhaps there'll be some weird mount olympus situation where all the gods congregate and stay within a region made for themselves or a new plane, and leylas or other xhorhasians act as some sort of protector of a beacon that's allowed to stay there
or if this would push research and development of dunamancy to possibly allow for an extended reach for the beacons or remove the need for proximity at all
maybe the gods can just choose to reincarnate when they feel they are going to die and avoid having to use beacons at all.
idk I'm just thinking because imagine 50yrs time from these in game events, one of the pantheon who had agreed to stay accidentally got killed too far and a whole group of people suddenly woke up the next day nearly powerless. Or it would allow those gods who are tired to eventually decide to let go if they ever wanted to
I think it would also create a very strange dynamic between mortals in positions of leadership who have these extended lifespans already (such as keyleth and leylas) who have to repeatedly deal with new versions over and over again or would maybe be tasked with finding and aiding these reincarnations
I'll probably add more to this because I really like thinking about this development, and I hope if it happens, that if we get a new campaign setting or lore book on these new developments
edit: the amount of spelling and grammatical mistakes here... I was tired and over caffeinated my apologies
