Some nights are better than others, and some night are even better still. Last night Lucinda and I went to see Alain Johannes play and after meeting a dear friend who was also there we were treated to some of the most beautiful music I have ever heard being played live. This man, unknown to many, has been a key figure in a lot of music Lucinda and I love: Chris Cornell, PJ Harvey, Mark Lanegan, QOTSA, Them Crooked Vultures, Sound City Players... the list goes on. His album “Spark” was on high rotation while we were in hospital with Ace and will forever be in our hearts. To Lucinda and me it felt like the universe wanted us to be there this close to our little mans second birthday.
