hello @cwjhunt ! Thank you so much for your question !!
oh.. this is a very hard question;; its way too hard to choose just one favorite! i love them all so much!! They all have their own unique things about each volume that make them hard to choose which one i like the best.. especially since over the years the books just keep getting better and better! from the prison chapter, to the scene where Belle catches the ball with her bare hands, to the volume where Arthur goes to space, and the one where they enter to win the a cappella world cup... each volume that comes out is so amazing, and it’s great to see how the story and characters develop + catch the subtle hints hidden in the narrative! There’s also the pirate ship with the pirate waiter character’s brief appearance in vol. #158... and the war where that one bagpiper was killed in vol. #220 ... and vol. #37 where the old lady loan shark briefly appears! oh, there’s way too many to choose from!! I know that Annabel’s favorite is volume is vol. #363, which is the one where Edgar lends Arthur the shoehorn, and I have to say the symbolism behind him handing it to him with his left hand (the left hand, for his family, was a symbol of life) was pretty astounding..
For me, the older books have a sort of nostalgia to them since i used to read them ever since i was a little kid, but the newer ones are also very well written and exciting, and I am so happy to see how Annabel chooses to expand the story even further! I always look forward to the next volume of nightfall that will be written!
But if i absolutely had to choose, I would say the newest volume that comes out takes the place of my ‘favorite volume’, since they have been improving each and every time they are released! I hope that answer suffices! It is just too hard to name a favorite out of them all since i always know there is a chance an even better volume could be released in the future!
Thank you so much for taking interest in Nightfall and taking the time to ask me this question! I would definitely say you win the title of ‘the one who chose the hardest question to answer’. Which volume of Nightfall is your favorite?
