Okay now that I have watched it twice, I really enjoy Life with Luca but for a few quibbles!

I am okay with Casey being in law but why is Derek a rockstar? I was under the impression he was not that great of a singer/songwriter. At least not enough to make it big.

The titular character, Luca, was not that interesting. They could've done a lot more with him. And honestly I felt like Skyler was in it more.

While I LOVED the cameos we got, Lizzie, Edwin, and Marti all deserved more than one passing mention. If they really couldn't have been in it (which I have my doubts about) it would've been nice to get an update on how they're doing!

But overall it's cute and definitely fanfiction-worthy! I would totally take a spin-off show (although I doubt they would make Dasey canon, whereas in this movie we can speculate about what happens next.)

So according to Casey: Derek left university after one year and Casey had to pack up all his stuff and break up with his girlfriend for him.

Questions.

Wasn't Casey supposed to be deferring for that first year to go dance with Jesse? Did she decide not to do that or was she around Derek at college for some reason anyway? I really hope she decided not to do that and if so this confirmation is great.

If Derek had a girlfriend at the time, did he ever get together with Casey during that first year?

Also Casey says his stuff is "still" in her basement. Did she even have a basement after one year of college? Or did she transport all of Derek's stuff to her basement after she got a house? If so why did you do that Casey
