“Hm?” Riku turned around, facing the blonde haired keybearer with a tilt of his head. A small smile spread across his normally solemn features. Nodding in response to Ventus’ inquiry. “Yeah. I’ll ask Yen Sid to pair us up next time. I think I actually have just the mission in mind.” With a flick of his wrist, a massive portal of white, purple, and blue appeared before the two. “Well then it’s a good thing I can use portals of Light now then, isn’t it? Ya know, I hear back in the day every Keyblade Chosen used to be able to use these.” Looking back to Ventus, he reached out and ruffled the boy’s hair. “Wonder why it went out of style.”
✣ 「 ヴェン」 ❦❧ ─ Normally. The accepting and that smile Riku have would immediately cause the blond to beam an sparkles in delight... instead, his smile faltered and almost completely fell from his face. That bright one replaced by a strained and waning one. Or wasn’t about the portal Riku had made, or the ruffling of his hair, as Ventus push off that offending hand with a retort, “Don’t treat me like a kid. I’m twice your age,” instead, it was touching... or borderline a topic Ventus wasn’t entire comfortable with.
Something Ventus have never made P E A C E with.
The pain centuries ago nor the pain decades ago, both ached.
“Because there was no one left to teach it.” Came the automatic response, and utterly out of character for Ventus, as if he was reciting from a text book. “Keyblades are passed down from one individual to another. The predecessor usually taught the successor the skills necessary. Including the portal of light.” And then... the war happened Whom was once friends pitted against one and another. Whose who have laughed, shared pain, cried and learn together... becomes their greatest enemies. And once more, Xehanort had done exactly just as that to them again, even if there was reduced to barely a handful of Keyblade wielders left. Ven didn’t smile anymore, he looked... troubled.
“I lost my abilities and skills when a half of me was ripped away.”
