I would like to pose the same question about Arnold... But I think I have a good idea. LOL
Yeah, Arnold could be the poster child for introversion, lol. Sweet, quiet, thoughtful boi.

ly3t replied to your post “I see y'all still giving Helga dramatic makeovers while keeping Arnold...”
Cuz they want the "ugly duckling" to grow up into a beautiful swan...so to speak. Lol...all i did was turn her bushy unibrow into 2 bushy eye-brows because she don't wanna be reminded of her father
Yeah, I do the same and I don’t have any problems with people making little changes like that based off what Helga might come to prefer later in life. So long as it makes some kind of sense for her character, I don’t mind it at all.
It’s just that there’s this expectation in our society that women have to be beautiful and if they’re “not,” they need to alter themselves accordingly--especially if they’re looking to land the “man of their dreams.” You see it a lot in television. It doesn’t surprise me to see it stinking up fandom spaces, too, but it’s particularly disappointing to see in the HA! fandom ‘cause we have an actual episode called “Helga’s Makeover” where Helga passionately denounced the entire beauty industry. Granted, from the perspective of a nine-year-old, but she still said, “This is stupid” and, “At least I’m not wearing a mask.” I feel like that says a lot about her as a character.
I do know a lot of people think about it along those kinds of lines--that they love Helga and so they want Helga to be beautiful because it’s What She Deserves--but that’s just kinda sad to me. Helga doesn’t need to shave her unibrow, get lip, ear and nose surgery, pile on makeup, regularly visit a hair salon and get an entirely new wardrobe in order to be beautiful. She’s already beautiful, and I’m not just saying that in the typical “as a person~” way, either.
Helga is strong. Helga is fierce. Helga has straight, shiny blonde hair and big blue eyes and nice skin and long arms and legs. I don’t think people should feel the need to change her entire facial structure or stick her in overly cutesy clothing. They could just emphasize what’s already there instead, but they don’t, and that's what really bothers me. It’s not so much that they make her look pretty, it’s that they’re twisting her to be “classic pretty.” And frankly, fuck classic pretty. Everyone’s got something about themselves that’s appealing, their own particular and unique brand of attractive, and the right people will pick up on it. Am I the only one who’s noticed that Arnold has never once called Helga ugly in any context? Or that in “Arnold Visits Arnie,” Hilda looked almost identical to Helga and Arnold was smitten anyway?
But honestly, at the end of the day, this whole thing wouldn’t bug me nearly as much if the artists in question did the same thing to Arnold that they do to Helga. If Arnold was standing there next to her all tall and ripped with sexy hair and smouldering eyes decked out in Armani or something, I’d still roll my eyes, but at least it wouldn’t be (subconscious though it may be) further perpetuating this idea that women have to be physically beautiful to have worth.
ly3t mentioned you on a post “I wanna destroy the culture of “women have to wear makeup to be...”
@agirlwithachakram i did. TL;DR, and some of it was cringeworthy
like the guy who thought it was about his opinion on whether women look good in makeup?
So, i saw a pic on FB that somewhat infuriated me. So now i ask thee: How do you feel about white folks dressing up as black people...even down to the makeup (read: blackface)? Even if it was a (so-called) harmless Halloween costume?
Let me make this absolutely clear.... FUCK any white person who thinks its okay to do Blackface/RedFace or anything like it. That shit is never okay. The very invention of Blackface is steeped in racism. The shit is never okay to do if we can’t tell who you’re supposed to be without it well then get a better fucking costume.
So since dude asked about your favorite Prince Era, i'm going to ask you your favorite Prince song. Mine...would probably have to be Purple Rain
Favorite Prince song would have to be “If i Was your girlfriend”
(I may not be the first to ask, but) What is the freakiest thing you've ever had done to you?
Hmmm tbh theres a long list
So, do niggas around your way REALLY be on that fuck shit?
Yes ... yes they do but i go 0 to 100 reall quick on that ass and they never think i flash that quick... im ruthless when im pissed
I always hear u say u "ain't shit," and that u're "crazy," but i honestly think u r beautiful. U make me wish we lived in the same state! Real shit
Awe thank you and yeah i am a tad bit crazy but to be honest i ain’t shit like im a sweet person once i warm up to you and my loyalty is out this world when im your friend but i still have a lot of selfish fucked up traits and anger issues i gotta deal with.... i wouldn't put nobody threw that... shit i still got daddy/ abandonment issues to deal with. so when i say stuff like that its to be funny but theres some seriousness behind it
