It was mid-afternoon in Gotham, and the streets were as busy as ever. One of the more popular store chains was having a big sale, and big sales meant big crowds, and plenty of deep pockets to go around.
Crow never took more than she needed at any given moment, but right now she needed a lot. She hadn’t eaten in at least twenty-four hours, and if she could get her hands on some money, she’d be able to afford enough to tide herself over for at least the next few days.
She hid among one of Gotham’s many alleys, turning a gear on her prosthetic leg. Everything was in check, all she needed to do was wait until the right mark showed up.
Leaning against her cane, she scanned the crowds. Her eyes locked on a group of people chatting excitedly among themselves. A few of them had cameras, and one was taking pictures of the aforementioned store.
Tourists; excited. Distracted. They might have money to pick, but they were quite far away. She’d have to wait for them to come nearer the crowded entrance, but they did seem like her best bet at the moment.
She could wait- after all, she had all day. It wasn’t like there was anything or anyone to distract her.
