The Pack Realises you’re in Love With Derek Hale 2/5
LYDIA - Peter Thornberry's POV:
When Derek decided to rebuild the Hale house he created more of a mansion, with enough bedrooms for the two packs to live as one if they so wished, a basement that holds a training room and a massive garden that leads into the woods of Beacon Hills. Noah helped Derek get the rights to the land back and generally helped with the whole project and just over a year later the house was finally ready.
Recently I've spent a lot of time in the training room with Lydia who has asked both me and Parrish to teach her how to defend herself. That's where she usually questions me about Derek as she was the first to realise how I felt about the alpha. She's really persistent and honestly, I know she won't stop until I admit it and that's where me are now.
"Are we ever going to talk about Derek?" Her sweet voice is quiet so if any of the pack come back they won't be able to hear what we're talking about, they'll just hear low murmurs and that's it.
"I don't want to talk about Derek," My voice comes out harsher than I intend but after talking to Jordan about anchors it's really gotten to me, "Arms up to protect your face Lydia," I snap as I make a jab in her direction and she defends it, green eyes narrowing. Ignoring it I take another swing at her, some part of me knowing I shouldn't take my emotions out on our training sessions but alas here we are. Lydia just knows and I know she knows, especially when she ducks a punch and swipes my feet from under me. The light pain that ricochets through me from my shoulder is almost soothing.
"You need to talk about it to someone," Lydia presses one her shoes to my chest with a raised eyebrow, "If not Derek himself."
"Just shut up and fight me," I glare back, going to yank her foot so she also falls but she's quick, taking a big step back and just waiting until I'm back on my feet. Immediately going for me with everything she has, getting more and more frustrated as I dodge and deflect every single blow she sends my way. She eventually reverts to a very Lydia move - her high kicks that Jordan taught her but even then I'm so pumped full of adrenaline I avoid every single one. Seeing an unbalanced opening I dart forwards and jab my elbow into her side causing a pained sound to escape her as she tumbles to the floor.
"You have to find a way to use your opponents' weight against them. They could have Stiles or Derek's physique but either way they can and will fall," I tell her after taking a breath and offering her a hand up, she takes it and immediately tries to swipe my feet from under me but I just kick her attempt away, "Lydia! Arms up to protect your face!" I snap as I duck another kick, going for her side but she dodges me, unbalancing me enough to slam her elbow into my spine and I'm falling. Before she can celebrate I flip myself back to my feet, going for a karate chop to the neck but she again dodges except this time I expect the dodge, lunging for her arm and twisting it behind her back.
"Oh hi Derek," Lydia looks up and smiles sweetly, causing me to whip my head around so hard I'm pretty sure I just gave myself whiplash. Stood in the doorway is Derek, Isaac and Scott, all three watching and I'm not sure how long they've been watching us. The blush that scatters across my freckled and scared cheeks makes me feel like I have a fever. A crease forms between Derek's eyebrows, his eyes meeting mine for a few seconds before he clears his throat, shakes his head in a fond manner and goes back upstairs.
"He likes you," Lydia whispers in my ear before going over to Scott and Isaac, grinning in victory.
As the three are leaving it dawns on me that she planned for Derek to come see us practice with the help of Isaac and Scott.
