How to train your IMPRINT! One of the biggest things I see not being taught in pilates that god put me on the planet to fix is the fact that we do not teach enough imprinted spine! Imprinted spine is where abdominal endurance is developed. The muscles most responsible is the #transverseabdominus the muscle that wraps around your waist like a belt - it creates pressure around the torso like a belt preventing movement of the spine and stabilizing it against the forces of movement! The faster and harder we move the more work the transverse muscle has to do to keep the spine stiff protecting the spine. For a lot of athletes the transverse is weak and therefore they experience after a day of sporting because as they are running around their core is not being held together as tight so the spine is allowed to absorb the forces of movement! The muscle needs to be strengthened so that the spine can maintain stiffness so that exercises like pilates #doublelegstretch #pilateslowerlift #legraises #lyinglegraises don’t cause pain - here’s how to do it - table top the legs and extend out wth our arching the spine. If the spine arches you don’t go out so far! When you can reach the floor without arching the spine you are ready for things like leg raises and double leg stretch etc! This is why when I do my 100 I can keep my feet 1 inch off the floor! Easily for all full ten breaths ... no problem. Work on this movement that currently has no name first as the foundation 😎 https://www.instagram.com/p/B4ImIMOj8FC/?igshid=1qruxvgd7lrv6
