This was a wise quote in hindsight.

The original series was great. The return is great too.

But they’re both incredibly different from one another. 

When you realize all those writers and guest directors were (somewhat) filtering down Lynch’s strangeness and making a bizarre but basically coherent night-time soap opera that appealed to the mainstream.

Now: Well, it’s just 100% Lynch and his insanity.  

I know Mark Frost gets co-writing credit but I doubt he is that involved, either, tbh. He’s too straightforward a writer for what we are seeing now.
