Hey so I'm angry at YouTube now over what I learned they did yesterday, from what I learned apparently the reasons the Lunar and Earth Show got deleted. So one of the reasons YouTube deleted the channel was cuz they accused the voice actors of partaking in scams relating to Lunar Plush bootleg merchandise of one of their characters being sold on TEMU. But Davis made it clear on his Twitch Stream that him and his colleagues were not taking part in that and they were accused of this. And the second reason which Davis pointed out was because of one of their characters called "Dazzle the Deer" and over the fact that they revealed their backstory about what happened to Dazzle when she was alive and called "Evelyn" which which involves Sun getting possessed by BloodMoon and murdering her, and YouTube deemed it to violent resulting in what is happening now. Davis also said they had three requests sent to YouTube already to try and get the show back up and running but they were all denied, he made it aware to us that he only had one request left and if it gets denied then the Lunar and Earth Show will be gone for good. So he asked us his viewers to get the word out to try and make everyone aware of the situation any way possible on all platforms we have. And since Davis doesn't have an account here on Tumblr and there's a lot of people I saw here who are fans of the show i wanted to help by starting here so I wanted to make awareness of this to try and get people to make noise and get YouTube to reinstall the Lunar and Earth Show so it's not gone forever.

But yeah,, I knew about the Temu accusations, but the thing with Dazzle is new to me. How the hell is that too violent, and yet, graphic videos of people doing surgeries on animals are allowed, in which it shows them bleeding everywhere??? Everything with Dazzle was done in VRCHAT, so not only was there no blood, there was also nothing gruesome directly shown. All we know was stuff that was spoken about, with little to no graphic details involved

I know you kinda already explained it in previous lore drops posts of the Mer AU with MerRuin and Eclipse but can you explain the process of the Egg Development, The Signs of it starting, and the Symptoms Mermaids experience that indicates that they are making an egg(s)? Like do they experience the same symptoms a pregnant person would or is it different because of their species?

Answering these two together!

1. Process of the Egg Development/How Long does it take for eggs to form and hatch.

So the eggs are formed via magic in a pouch that sits at the upper base of the mers tail where it is thickest and therefore the most secure! Magical energies are drawn from the parent and into this pouch which slowly forms the egg over a number of months, usually about six to seven months though it can take longer depending on the mers health and how much food they are able to eat in order to compensate for the energy required. It takes this long because the energy used is what mers need to live and if it is drawn too fast it could kill the mer.

In Ruin's case it took roughly ten months for Loon's egg to be ready, simply due to his health. As for how long it takes for the egg to hatch, usually no more than two months! Loon hatched around the expected time. So overall, it took a year for Loon's egg to form and then to hatch. Probably the most stressful year of both Eclipse and Ruin's lives haha!

2. Signs and Symptoms.

Honestly there isn't really much in the ways of signs or symptoms other than a mer gaining more an appetite and being more tired overall. There is no physical sign of a mer carrying eggs either, no lumps or bumps or anything like that. The fevers Ruin suffers from is a result of his body struggling to provide the energy needed for the eggs creation, and he would need to spend a lot of time resting.

Usually when the laying day approaches a mer will start to gain more energy again as the egg(s) will no longer require energy provided to them and the supply will get cut off. However Ruin got worse closer to the day of laying because the egg was struggling to generate it's own energy so his body was forced to continue supplying to keep it alive.

But the moment it came out and that supply was cut off, it began to falter again. Ruin had just barely enough left to spare to sing a song of healing to save the egg and finally kickstart it to start generating it's own supply of energy before he finally passed out.

3. Does the egg mostly stay with Eclipse in the swap au because of Ruin needing to use a cane to get around while doing his job?

It does, but Ruin does get his fair share of babysitting when Eclipse goes out to hunt! He has to provide for the other three hungry mouths afterall. But if he had to do his lighthouse keeping job while still on eggsitting duty, Ruin would either leave the egg in the care of Sols and the Peas, or he would use a homemade cushioned harness strapped to his chest to carry the egg and jar around in.

4. How did Ruin and Eclipse come up with the name 'Loon'?

So Eclipse had considered 'Lune' at first, which was purely impulsive and almost right after he disregarded it, thinking it was a dumb name and too similar to Moon. But Ruin liked the sound of it, and so he jokingly suggested maybe 'Loon' instead, as he was 'like a little looney tune' with how energetic he was! Plus he was a bit like the bird of the same name given all of his spots. Eclipse still thought it was a bit dumb but ultimately caved because it made Ruin happy. It quickly grew on him though!

You say Loon is an energetic little pancake gremlin so would he enjoy playing with cat teasing toys? Also who was the first to start panicking once Loon's egg started hatching Ruin or Eclipse?

Loon would absolutely go ham over cat toys! Especially laser pointers. He would be unstoppable.

And Eclipse lmao, i like to think he was the one holding the egg when it starts to crack. He yelled for Ruin so loud he startled the poor mer off the sofa. He'd hold the egg over to Ruin, in quite a frantic mess because he briefly feared somehow he broke the egg, despite Ruin telling him the hatch day would be coming up soon. Ruin would hold Eclipse's hands in his, the egg still cradled in his palms as he reassures him this is fine, their egg is finally hatching!

And it does, in Eclipse's own hands. Ruin has to briefly scoop tiny Loon up when he notices the withered arm, and he nips it off when he realised it was already too far gone. Gave Eclipse a startle but it had to be done.

After that he hands Loon who is still very eepy, still waking up back over to Eclipse, who gets a bit lost in the moment of holding his child.

He's a little emotional about it

Hey last night where I lived there was a Real Full BloodMoon but it was cold and windy as hell so I only went out long enough to get a picture of it. (My camera is bad so it's not a good picture but it was still pretty cool to see)

Hey the Eclipse was visible where I was in California so I put some Eclipse glasses on my camera and caught this so I hope you have a good "Eclipse of 2024 Day" #EclipseInAmerica
