they’re the main songwriters of the group, so a lot of the time they’ll order in food to the studio at 1am to try and finish writing a couple songs together and they usually fall asleep on the floor cuddling

lyra barely sings in the band or in performances or songs, but she has a really good voice, whenever grayson has nightmares she sings him to sleep

grayson has to put xanax in his pocket in his outfits so he has them if he needs them

Lyrason Headcanons (for grayson’s birthday)

- Grayson always takes off Lyra’s heels for her after events (not my original idea, i’ve seen this in a few fics)

- when they’re older (and married) they have one kid, a daughter, who has a fancy oldish name (edith? charlotte? samantha? francesca? estelle?) but her nickname is more masc/modern (eddie? charlie? sam? frankie? stella?)

- they had thought about/planned to have more kids, but the birth was really bad and neither one of them wanted to do it again

- Grayson was super happy they had a girl, especially because he had been stressed about how to raise a son with no good father/son relationship to think back on (except Nash taking care of him).

- for valentine’s day Grayson always gets both Lyra and their daughter a gift (flowers + food + clothes/jewelry/stuffed animal) and he randomly surprises them with flowers

- Lyra saw the “the first flowers a man gets are at his funeral” thing, so now she goes out and gets Grayson flowers like once a week

- Grayson wears jewelry. he typically has a few bracelets on each wrist, multiple rings on each hand and a small necklace stack. It’s something he started trying out in the time between tig and tgg, encouraged by his therapist. he’s still kinda shy about it when he meets lyra in tgg, but he shows her some of his jewelry and she really likes it, and he starts wearing it regularly. Jameson tries to mock him for it, but Nash shuts it down really quickly, saying something intelligent about toxic masculinity.

- Lyra and Grayson regularly purchase matching jewelry. when they travel to new places (places they haven’t been to together) they get matching souvenir jewelry. they get those italian charm bracelets and get new charms every where, they have tons of matching rings, and they definitely have necklaces with each others initials on them (i want to wear his initial on a chain round my neck, chain round my neck, not because he owns me, but cause he really knows me)

- Lyra posts on instagram pretty often (not like obsessively, but more than Grayson) cause she likes to keep her family updated (especially since she doesn’t live with them anymore) but she kinda forgets she has millions of followers (the result of dating the official hottest hawthorne) and posts very casually. She often has a cute lil story up, and posts a photo dump like once a month. She has only checked her dms once since tgg, and let’s just say it was very disturbing, but her comment section is mostly nice a lot of “akfndbfkcmjdj”, “holy power couple” and “can you fight/can grayson fight?”

- Grayson likes older music, though he doesn’t often listen to things, and when he does he usually listens to white noise (cause he’s a freak like that). He primarily lets lyra control their music.

- Lyra likes taylor swift. i know some of you fuckers disagree (“nOt eVerYoNe LikEs taYLoR sWifT”) but ive met JLB, and she said A) Lyra is a (kind of) self insert character B) she liked my taylor swift shirt C) she was asked to make a playlist for gr tour and couldn’t because it was all taylor swift and D) she agreed that the prophecy is Grayson’s song; so i think its valid for me to say Lyra likes taylor swift. she’s not a super swiftie, she’s not interested in the theories or anything, she just likes the music. I think she also likes lana del ray and gracie abrams. Grayson was a bit distasteful at first, the shake it off trauma was real, but he cried to the prophecy when it was released and they listen to atwtmvtvftvsgavralps on repeat in their car during autumn

- grayson and lyras love isn’t just one vibe. it’s hard and fast like avery and jameson’s but it’s also steady and gentle like nash and libby’s, with plenty of goofiness like Xander and max’s.

A knock reverberates on the door of Lyra and Grayson’s penthouse in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Grayson had hastily purchased the apartment about 20 minutes after he moved into his first dorm. Turns out, having an entire wing of a mega mansion to yourself is a lot more comfortable than sharing a dorm room with two random men, even if they’re Harvard students.

Grayson and Lyra had been living together for a while, Grayson had asked Lyra to move in with him right after she won the grandest game, and they’ve lived together in secret ever since.

Lyra is upstairs in their bedroom so she doesn’t hear the knock, but Grayson does. He opens the door see Jameson standing there.

“How’d you get my address?” Grayson demands.

“Why didn’t you tell me your address?” Jameson smirks, “got yourself a little roommate?”

He gestures at the louboutin heels Grayson had gifted Lyra for their anniversary, hastily thrown in the foyer. Grayson cursed himself for not choosing an apartment with a coat closet.

“No, I live alone.” Grayson lies. Lyra accidentally contradicts the lie from upstairs as she decides this is the optimal time to discuss laundry.

“Asshole! Do you remember which direction you threw my red underwear?” She calls from their upstairs bedroom.

Grayson sighs, excepting his fate.

“Which red pair sweetheart? You have like six!” he shouts back to her.

“The shimmery lace ones that move to the side easy! and I only have 3 pairs!”

“Oh yes, those! I like those darling!”

Jameson’s eyes widen in horror, Grayson can’t possibly have a sex life??

“Me too, they’re comfy! Which is why I need to find them!”

“I think they went behind us, maybe on the bookshelf? Check between Jane Austen and Wilbert Awdry!” Grayson yells.

“Found them!”

Lyra pauses before yelling again, slightly disgusted, “Oh my God, these need to be washed!!”

“Put them in the hamper with my burgundy suit! I’m taking it to the dry cleaners tomorrow, darling!”

“Thanks babe!”

Jameson leans forward, grinning at Grayson “Still no roommate, loverboy?”

“Shut up.”

“Nice hickey, bAbE” Jameson sing-songs, poking at the very prominent love bite on Grayson’s neck.

“I hope you die.” Grayson deadpans

Wilbert Awdry is one of the authors of the book that inspired thomas the train engine, a renowned children’s book about a living train. I just thought that was a silly little detail that no one would know unless I mentioned it or they were just that into trains! Obviously Lyra and Grayson would most likely not own those books :)

I don’t know if any apartments have second floors? but I feel like Lyra and Grayson wouldn’t live in a house yet, so this apartment complex does. Sorry if that’s unrealistic, I’ve never lived in an apartment.

Lyra goes to Harvard too, right? it’s been a while since I read tgg, so I don’t remember for sure, but I think she does!

I hope the underwear thingy isn’t weird, when I thought of the plot for this I wasn’t thinking about them having sex, I was thinking about Jameson teasing Gray in a silly little way.

I’ve been writing a lil lyrason scene the past couple nights, and I was wondering if anyone would read it if I posted it? it’s just a cute lil thing where gray and lyra live together and no one knows, but then jameson comes knocking and its cutie patootie. I’m working on my lyrason snippet and I have a decision to make. Ok so in the story lyra leaves out a pair of shoes, which shoes do i use?

first i was gonna use those louis vuitton heels (the ones with like the red soles) because grayson is classy and i think he rubs off on lyra in that way

but then i thought maybe i should use women’s running shoes, since i feel like they’re more lyra and since their relationship isn’t public i don’t think they’d go to fancy places

or should i do like ballet shoes
