She wanted to check in on her newest team member. She’d commed ahead to ask if it was okay for her to stop by, because his door had no lock and it was awkward to just have it whoosh open without an invitation. Safety regs didn’t allow for a lock to be installed or she’d have done so forthwith.

As the door slid open she stepped just inside the entrance. She stared at the back of his head for a moment wondering if he’d changed his mind about seeing her or if he was deep in a meditation. “Did you wish me to return at a better time?” she asked quietly. She asked a lot from her crew, so while she enjoyed getting to know each of her crew, she did not like to intrude too heavily upon their personal time without their consent.

"One time is as good as another," he answered, raising his head slightly at the commander's voice, and he turned slightly to face her and inclined his head with a slight smile. "Please...come in. I am at your disposal. Did you need something in particular?"

Her cheeks flushed, she grabbed at her heart and stumbled. “Ouch…you wound me. How shall I ever recover from the stab of your rapier wit?” Laughter bubbled out and she rubbed absently at her left flank. “Damn, Garrus. I felt that…I won’t be able to sit down for a week.” She folded her arms across her chest and nodded to him. “Okay. I’ll give you this round…but know this, when you least expect it….I will bite back.” Her teeth clacked together when she made a dramatic bite gesture.

"Well, if your bite is as dangerous as that weird way you have of speaking, then I'm pretty sure I got nothing to worry about, Commander." his mandibles flick and he cocks his head towards the door. "I thought we were in the middle of something? That monster of yours won't kill itself. Just saying."

A mischievous glint sparkled in her blue eyes. "I'm sure if there is a monster down here, it's going to be much more scared of you than you are of it. Especially once it gets to know you." She bit her lip trying to keep the smirk off her face.

"Really, Shepard? Scared jokes? And here I was thinking you could actually be funny." He sighs dramatically. "So disappointed."
