HAPPY LIFE DAY! From all the crew in 2019 <3
With extra love for @nutterbutterbox, @shahfla and of course @humanrevolt, and the fact that we all got to hang out on the same damned couch together this year, please let’s do it again.
I hope everyone has the opportunity to spend time with or hear from their loved ones this season, and has things to look forward to in times ahead. Be well.
Inktober 2019 05: “Build”
Obsessed with civil infrastructure and fiercely dedicated to the building and maintenance of her own muscles, I figured @humanrevolt‘s Lyrisal was a perfect candidate for today’s prompt.
Ahuska “You don’t get to call me Puppy” Crow Lyrisal “That is absolutely fucking hilarious” Tetrakor Kassandra “...Do go on” Nines
Deserter gals
(Lyrisal and Nines are @humanrevolt ‘s of course)
“I like your new goatee.” “I like your new abs.” “Can’t let you be out-doing me now, can I? But are you sure this is an entirely proper way to be practising with the Force...?” “Oh I can be a whole lot less proper if you give me a moment-” “Stop showing off and just hold me, Kane.”
---
Ulfran (or Kane, as he was known back then, before he ‘left’ the Order and took on his middle name) and Lyrisal used to think they were so clever but pretty much everyone knew what was up. He still wonders what might have happened if he’d turned around and actually left the Order for real to live a much more ordinary life.
On a goddamn roll today with the smooches, let’s go three for three.
Skipping back in time a little to a younger Lyrisal and Nines, on the cusp of deserting their respective factions. Both of these ladies belong to @humanrevolt and I’m REALLY REALLY HOPING this isn’t gonna be a picture that makes me sad to look at forever the way things are unfolding in rp right nooowww aaaaa
“Have you forgotten how to smile entirely, Ulfran? I know we have a lot of holes to patch up between us, but is there no joy in being able to work together again...?” “Ah, but the problem is exactly that. I fear I find a little too much joy in the fact.”
---
More coats! Because @humanrevolt also thought the lovely green jacket would suit Lyrisal and I’m inclined to agree. I gave her Ulfran for company this time because neither of these two get enough art time which is a crying shame!
Crow stared hard at the radar, watching the ping bring up Nines' ship, drifting at first, then slowly getting pulled back. "Lyrisal, they fragged her. They're pulling her in, get five squads, if we turn around in delta formation we can-"
"No."
Crow stared at the console for a moment and then flicked on the holo to stare at Lyrisal between himself and Ahuska. "What the feth do you mean, 'No'!? This is Nines. This is your fethin' wife!"
Lyrisal looked as distraught as someone like her could be. Her expression remained placid, stone, strong, but there was that undeniable feeling of rage radiating from her. Fear, worry, sadness. She was watching her wife be taken by them... most likely to be tried and executed. But she had a job to do. She had people to look after, so many people. Yet more Imperial ships were even now popping into the system. If they stayed, there was no possible escape. "I said no, Crow. We have-...we have too many people who need us to get out of here. Civilians. People who can't yet fight. We need to get them safe, if we don't do it now we won't get another chance. That's an order, Private."
The holo cut and so did the comm. Crow continued to stare hard at the console, wishing that this wasn't happening. Lyrisal was right. And yet... he couldn't help but think back to that time he ran. Was he really going to do it again? For the first time in a long time, he was scared. "Do you trust me?" he asked Ahuska. Did he even need to wait for an answer?
He didn’t even need to ask. And Ahuska didn’t need that thrumming connection between them to know right from the start that he had no intention of following Lyrisal's order. Private? Ha. That's the whole reason he only ever was a private. Ahuska knew what they were going to do before they even took off, and she felt every bit of fear and fury right down to her bones. "<To the death,>" she murmured, just between herself and her riduur, knowing for the first time in her life what it truly meant to march into battle arm in arm with vode. Any other option was... inconceivable.
Home ripped itself away from the fleet and made directly for the Sith fleet alone.
"CROW!" Lyrisal screamed, afraid now of losing even more. Stars, that might just break her.
