Desserts I Ate This Month Part 1~~ :)

Stopped by Lysée, a new Korean-French pastry boutique in the Flatiron District on a friend’s recommendation last week! It's a pretty fun set-up since downstairs is the sitting area, but the upstairs area is where they have the takeout area, in which all of the desserts in a gallery style set-up to browse. I ended up getting their cake collection with the chocolate marble, carrot, and yuja flavors and all stood out in some way since the yuja cake had this nice meyer lemon confit on top, the chocolate marble had this rich caramel glaze and the carrot cake had pecans and cinnamon! But I couldn’t resist and also got their Corn dessert made with corn-flavored mousse, sablé, and grilled corn cream! There were so many other desserts I wanted to try so I’ll definitely be back here another time.

Man, it is REALLY so hard to do those uncommon OC asks... especially because I just want to ask everything for everyone... here, I'll limit myself: could I ask... 1-12 and 18-23 for Lysee, 23, 30, and 31 for Clay, and 4, 16, 20, and 39 for Helene? ... this hardly counts as limiting myself. xD

1. A little-known talent of your OC?

As the onlydaughter of her father, she really was his pet and he enjoyed it immensely whenshe told him stories she had invented. She grew extremely skilled at it andwith the years became an intriguing storyteller. Maybe that’s why she is soskilled at scheming.

2. What trait does your OC like best about themself?(Eyes, guitar skills, random bird facts, etc)

Hahaeverything?! Well she is megalomaniac, so she really loves herself. Especiallyher green eyes and her red hair.

3. How many pillows does your OC sleep with?

She sleeps onone, but there are maybe about twenty in her bed.

4. Is your OC good at keeping secrets?

OHH yess!

 5. Your OC’s worst habit?

Looking down onother people

6. Does your OC prefer tennis shoes/sneakers or flipflops?

Lysee is a highheel woman. If she had to choose, she would prefer sneakers, though they woulddisgust her too!

Only uglypeople need them. Although she has a tattoo.

 8. Your OC is given a full-ride scholarship to any collegethey could want to go to. Where do they go and what do they major in?

Somewhere shecould learn about politics and manipulation.

Lol a queenlike Lysee really doesn’t concern herself with chores. If she had to do them,she would definitely hate cleaning the toilette the most, because she wouldfeel, it was so beneath her.

Haha, I lovethese questions! Yes she definitely is!

She rarelylaughs from the heart and there are very few people who can make her laugh.Damyen sometimes does when they are together, drinking a glass of wine andtalking about this and that.

 19. Something that makes your OC cry without fail?

When sherealizes that despite all her power and wealth she has no real friend, no oneto rely on or to confide in. When she realizes how alone she is.

 20. A obscure/ridiculous fear your OC has?

She is reallyafraid of rodents. (She made bad experiences)

 21. Does your OC have any type of disability, whetherit be mental, physical, etc?

Other thanthinking herself to be an invincible goddess…ahm…no.

 22. Does your OC get frustrated when people forget toclose the door behind themselves?

No. Where shelives, doors are closed for her and her guests.

 23. What is your OC’s first memory?

When she wasthree, she looked outside the window of her nursery and saw her mother walkingin the blooming gardens of the palace. That image left such an impression onher young mind that she could never forget it and she told herself then thatone day she would be as beautiful as her unreachable mother.

Clay:

23. What is your OC’s first memory?

Clay’s firstmemory is when he was one night sitting in the midst of his tribe. His brotherMakyah’s arm was around him and they watched the blazing fire, people dancing aroundit and singing the old songs of the forefathers.

 30. What is your OC’s favorite drink?

Water from afresh spring.

 31. Does your OC prefer to sleep in a warm or coolarea?

He is used tosleep in a cool area, but he’s not very complicated in these things.

Yes she is.When someone confides in her, he/she can be sure that the secret is safe withHelene.

She wouldprobably go somewhere, where she knows she will get good advice on what to donext ^^.

Puh. Shedoesn’t have any ridiculous fear I know of. Sometimes she is unsure of herself,but despite that she is a rather down-to-earth type of person.

This is funny.She actually makes the most beautiful melodies on crystal glasses.

Here you have Damyen and princess Lysee, later to be called “The Goddess”, in their younger days. This takes place just before Damyen goes off to war, which will change their relationship completely. 

As the son of a high minister, Damyen spends his childhood and youth mostly at the court and becomes a favorite of the king’s daughter Lysee. Together they form the head of a high society group consisting of some spoilt aristocratic adolescents whose main goal in life is to always party. After some time he falls in love with the princess. Some days before he has to leave for the war that just broke out, he visits her one last time and though he didn’t plan on doing so, he gets caught in the moment, the scent of her hair, her long eyelashes, the possibility of never seeing her again and he bends forward...
