I've compiled a list of planets that exist in the universe of In The Ocean of Stars. Most of these planets are going to appear or be mentioned in the first book. As the series goes on, I will be adding to this "codex" of sorts, and hopefully finding a proper star chart creator to actually show you guys how these systems and planets look in the universe they're in!
These planets are going to be listed from being human-colonized to being mixed-species, to homeworlds. You'll find that there are plenty of human colonies in most parts of the galaxy!
More will be added as time goes on!
Epsilon Proioxis Cluster
The Wastes (Minox Star System)
CALENDOR- One of the many desert planets that encompass The Wastes. Calendor was the primary sight to The Great Incursion War, a war fought between a human separatist movement and The Council of Interplanetary Systems. The town of Purity, Valerian's birthplace, is considered the "capital" of the planet. Calendor has other parts of its planet that has actual vegetation and wildlife, but contain little in the way of Byrantium, a key element used in fuel for space travel. Baton Creek, Peter's hometown, is also in Calendor.
LARIK- Is what can be best described as a marsh. Do not let the green vegetation and plentiful water of this planet fool you- most of the plant species that exist here are toxic to human physiology. Humans came to the planet originally for farmland, but after many unsuccessful attempts at establishing a colony, it soon became a place where criminals and pirates can escape the clutches of Council law. Larik soon became a haven for smugglers, crime organizations, and anyone in the underworld worth their salt who needed to stash their contraband- or crimes- in a bog. Rio Oscuro, Javier's hometown, is a major port in Larik.
VURYA- Vurya is another arid desert planet, with Vurya being the most recently settled planet by humans over the past fifty years or so. Vurya was primarily colonized for its natural resources, but also housed many refugees from Calendor during the war. The town of Calamity, though small and not of much note, was home for both the MC and Yoshie as children.
OTHER PLANETS IN THE EPSILON PROIOXIS CLUSTER
Minox Star System
HYCENA- One of the more hospitable planets, Hycena is home to multiple different climates and continents. The size of the human population on Hycena is the largest in the cluster, and is home to multiple towns and cities. The towns of Shaton and Whiskey City (Rosalie and Thane's hometowns respectively) reside here.
KAN-LA- The Anderra homeworld, Kan-La is one of the only planets in the system that's not been claimed in some capacity by the Council. Kan-La is a volcanic, mostly inhospitable planet with an incredibly dense atmosphere. The Anderrans are the only known alien species to have the physiology capable of withstanding the otherwise deadly environment.
ZAYR- Home to the Lyvera, an incredibly advanced species known for the telepathy and connection to the Vidarri. The Lyverans claim they're descendants of the Vidarri, despite ancient sources describing the Vidarri homeworld far outside the Minox Star System. The Lyvera are a hostile people, unwilling to interact with most alien races in the galaxy due to their cultural heritage and proclamation that they are "other" and "better" than most. They have a particular hate toward humans. They were part of The Great incursion War.
Considered to be the most evolutionarily advanced civilization known to the Clover Clouds, the Lyverans claim to be descendants from the ancient race of the Vidarri. The Lyvera are characterized by their long ears, dark blue skin, and crescent-like protrusions that form at the center of their foreheads; not unlike how the Vidarri are described in their ancient texts.
The Lyvera hail from the planet of Zayr. It is a lush, tropical world in the Minox star system within the Epsilon Proioxis Cluster. This is notable, as it is contradictory toward ancient text that describe the Vidarri being far away from the Epsilon Proioxis Cluster, a fact that the Lyverans have disregarded and considered a piece of anti-Lyveran propaganda.
The Lyverans are ruled by a king and queen, and have lived under a monarchy for generations. The ruling family are considered akin to gods, and have (what is shared by Lyverans) the strongest telepathic and mental capabilities of any Lyveran known. This includes telepathy, empathic capabilities, and telekinesis. Only one out of the abilities mentioned have been known to be actually demonstrated by the Lyveran Crown.
The Lyverans are a hostile people, and refuse to interact with the majority of alien species, as they considered themselves to be above most. The Harpii have a long history with the Lyverans, primarily over the resource byrantium, which has caused multiple skirmishes and battles between the two races over hundreds of years they've known of each other.
The Lyverans, however, have recently come to detest and have great conflict with humans. Considering humans to be the weakest of all alien species, the Lyverans treat many humans as a non-developed alien race, akin to an animal that, "has the unfortunate means to talk". The Lyverans were the opposition to the humans in The Great Incursion War, where anti-council humans and Lyverans fought against the expansion of The Council's influence and land ownership in the Minox system. This conflict led to the slaughter of thousands of humans on newly settled planets, such as Vurya, Calendor, and others.
Despite the peace treaty signed at the end of The Great Incursion War, the Lyverans haven't stopped in their anti-human sentiment, and have skirmishes with Council soldiers along their respective borders to this day.
