what if. ok so like this is gonna be all over the place but what if veyda and m and vale have functionally similar abilities? like ya m’s like... initial power was shapeshifting but fucked up, and veyda could just change how she looked a little bit (which is my backwriting reason for why she’s so weird compared to anyone else who ended up in the void for whatever amount of time) and vale’s is basically being a good conductor, which seem massively different, but like. this is just me rambling so it doesnt have to make complete sense and like... what if veyda was a good conductor too? like, it was easy enough for various entities to like, give her temporary abilities and also just like... talk to her? messages went through easier? she’s got great bluetooth connection or whatever? and m was the like... extension cord between a bunch of people and whatever outside source they were drawing their power from and when they tried to like... stop doing that? it went weird and they can just like... tap into the connections a little every now and then (and yeah folks would probably be mad if they realized but like... m is supposed to be dead and also as far as most folks know m could still just cut them off from their magic source so they can be a little extra gutsy and like. in short? 3 people who are just good at conducting magic from other sources and also have committed arson and will again
