the cut isn’t deep -- not as deep as she’s had before. if anything it’s just a minor annoyance. aloy has had to grit her teeth through worse without bandaging it. but she does have a hunt to get to (something about mysterious disappearances), and the gash on her bicep makes drawing her bow a bit harder than it should be. so the girl sighs, reshoulders her quiver and nods. “fine. but then i leave.”

she’s stopped, several paces back from the other, focusing. fingers twitch, consider reaching for her bow, but waits. it may be nothing. it may be a misunderstanding -- but something of the feeling on the back of her neck has her antsy. “we’re being followed.”

the red head huffs, pushing one of her (admittedly messy) braids behind her ear. “my hair is always a mess,” aloy responds defensively. something about, oh, you know, running around trying to save the world makes it hard to keep her hair neat and tidy. moreover, the girl barely sees the point in it, since it’ll just get messy again. but she does stop squirming, impatiently picking at her fingers while loghain does what he thinks is necessary -- in some small way, it’s nice. rost would’ve just added another braid and called it a day. this feels almost.... parental. but she’s not going to tell him that.

aloy lets out a rather indignant snort, bow at the ready. “don’t challenge a nora to an archery match.” even a nora outsider, archery was in her veins. it was who she was. and rost had practically drilled it into her brain. she could probably hit the center asleep. still, she doesn’t mind a competition. “but what do i get when i win?

god, she knows that stubbornness all too well. it’s like... sometimes it’s like talking to a wall. for both of them. letting out a frustrated sigh, aloy offers a reluctant, “fine. but just... don’t be stupid.”

the help startles her more than anything. from a young age, rost had encouraged aloy to held herself -- to be able to tend to any wounds she would receive fighting the machines. so aloy is quite capable of handling herself after a run-in with bandits left her pretty scratched up. hesitating only a moment at ellie’s touch, aloy smiles, adjusts her hair so the other girl can get the places that aloy can’t well. “thanks.”

she was only hesitating to analyze the situation, not because she was concerned or anything, so ellie’s exclamation comes from nowhere. for the briefest moment, she’s startled (which is fairly hard to do). but then she’s snorting, a grin spread across her lips. “you need to work on your pep talks.”

“you don’t need to ask ellie,” aloy responds, grinning, already leaning in, and if ellie doesn’t kiss her quick, aloy’s going to claim it.
