Cool UID made by @carolinalaserworks to complete my “as issued” build! Originally, when I joined and was assigned to 2BCT, 82nd Airborne for the 15 month deployment during “Surge II,” this is exactly how my rifle was issued. Less the scars and bruises, “gangster grip” as it was called back then, and of course, the grip panels, UID and fun switch. . Because I rotate between what period of time I want this to be “correct” for, I wanted the UID made to replicate some of the later GWOT deployments I’ve been on. The UIDs didn’t exist back then, but this build is close to even our current rifles less the PEQ-15 and fun switch. Oh, and obviously, the added years of abuse. Oh hey I built two more ARs while nobody was paying attention

I wanted a basic-ass M4gery, and I had one last MARS-L lower I hadn't used yet, so I decided to build one.

Meanwhile I saw BCM had blemished 14.5 SOCOM uppers on sale for Black Friday with free BCGs included, so I thought fuck it and ordered one. Then I put it on my Ballistic Advantage lower I had layin' around, and now I also have a right handed M4gery in case I go shooting with someone and they need to borrow one.

...I'd like for that someone to be a nice pretty lady who shares one or more of my interests and thinks shooting might be a fun hobby to get into, but if I'm being realistic I'll probably just end up letting my brother-in-law or my little sister shoot it and nobody else because I'm such a socially awkward sack of shit.
