[Chosen One] Exclusive Interview with Mystical 5 Girls
Dance Pinoy KPop’s new girl group Mystical 5 Girls, also known as M5G, will have their official debut on June 9, at Step Off 2012. They will show the audience that they have worked hard to debut as M5G. The group is not only a sing and dance group, but they were also trained to do some ramp modeling and hosting jobs. M5G consists of Anna, Kelly, Elly, Zia, and their 5th member will be revealed soon.
Kelly (Park Minju) was born on August 28, 1993 moved to the Philippines to learn English. She studies at Far Eastern University (FEU), major in AB English. She used to have a cover group, B Bloom, Miss A’s Cover Group, before joining M5G. She also knows how to speak Mandarin and a little bit of Filipino. “After School’s Uee is my role model because she is a talented person.”
Elly (Hong Eunji) has been in the Philippines for 6 years now. She also studies at FEU, major in English. She was also a member of B Bloom before joining M5G. She knows how to speak Filipino but she’s not quite fluent yet. “My role model is CL from 2NE1. CL is a really good dancer and she has lots of charisma.”
Anna (Annabelle Raniedo) was born on September 29, 1994 and is the leader of M5G. She attends Our Lady of Fatima University, major in Influence in Banking. Before joining M5G, Anna was in a cover group of Brave Girls, Black Pearl Girlz. She said “Hyuna from 4Minute is my role model because she is sexy and she is a good dancer”.
Zia (Hyun Jeong) is the maknae (youngest) of the group. Born on November 3, 1994, she is Elly and Kelly’s schoolmate. She has been to the Philippines for 2 years now. She is also a member of B Bloom.
Why M5G/Mystical 5 Girls?
We chose the name Mystical 5 Girls because we have different colors.
How long have you known each other?
We have known each other for almost 2 months now.
Why make a K-pop Girl Group in the Philippines?
We made a K-pop group here in the Philippines because we want to prove that Filipinos and Koreans can be one in music.
What is your group’s dream/goal in the music industry?
We want to be known by everyone and get noticed by Filipino K-pop fans.

“Zia! She is always sleepy!” Elly answered.

“Kelly! She likes making jokes and she is noisy” Elly and Anna said.
Who does aegyo (acting cute) a lot?
“Elly! She likes to talk cute and do things cute” Anna and Kelly answered.
Who is the most serious member?
“Zia! She I always serious in everything she does” Elly and Kelly said.
Who do you think will be the most popular member and why?
“We are one! We can’t choose because one member can’t be more popular than the others.”
On May 25, M5G will be recording their song Nareul Saranghae (I love you). The genre of their album is a mix of cute, electronic and jazz. There is a story behind the song, a girl asking a boy if she really loves her - sort of a love story. Their music video will also be revealed soon.

“Thank you for having us. This is our first time being interviewed. We hope that we can get a chance for another interview.”
M5G is still searching for their 5th member. They already have 3 candidates for their 5th member; who might be Korean or Filipino. Hopefully M5G will have their 5th member before they debut.
Nicky: It was fun interviewing M5G. They answered the questions thoroughly, and there was lots of laughter during the interview. It was easy to talk to them, despite the fact that it was only our first meeting. They were also very confident with their answers. I hope that I can interview them again.
I’m sure that lots of people will be anticipating for M5G’s debut. I’m definitely one of them. ^_^
