Thomas was sort of waiting for her to laugh in his face, it was a stupid omission on his part but his mind seemed to want her to know about it. However, she replied differently than he imagined she would and his head turned slowly to look at her. “No. Why would I?”

In the beginning he was on the wrong side of things. Working with WCKD and testing people to try and find a cure to this virus. Thomas doesn’t remember how it all started. Before the virus at least. He was thrown into the Glade down the road and put to the test with other kids, some older, some younger. It was a horrendous event that at this point in his life he’d like to not remember. He lost a lot of people in his life from the glade and the virus but now he was fighting back with The Right Arm to set things right in the world. It was during that time he found out that he was immune, like a few others to said virus and that gave him an advantage. During the last leg of their effort to defeat WCKD he was given a vile of his immune blood and sent off to try to cure the world and that’s exactly what he’d planned on doing.

Thomas forced a weak smile, it was sweet that she tried to comfort him. She was probably scared out of her mind after the phone call she got that he was in the hospital and how he almost died on the table. The bullet wound had done a number on him but that was what he got for being the hero to a robbery. He just didn’t want to put her through more pain, especially if he died this time. He let out a chuckle and took her hand, squeezing it gently. “I’m more worried about you.”

Vibrantly colored blossoms and the sweet smell of fresh floral arrangements assaulted his senses as soon as he walked through the door, the little chime of a bell marking his entrance into the otherwise quiet flower shop. The place was impressive in a quiet sort of way - the opposite of Fish’s loud sense of humor and penchant for rock music, and yet he felt right at home. It was that kind of place.

Letting his eyes roam over the rainbow of flowers he couldn’t even begin to name, Fish crossed his arms in front of him, unsure where to even start. He figured there must be someone around if the door was unlocked, someone who actually knew what they were doing. Tearing his gaze from all the beautiful colors, he headed further into the shop, heavy boots clunking against the floor. “Hello?”

“Ha ha, real funny” Noah replied to his brother when he looked around only to find him on the opposite side that he tapped his shoulder on. “Someone woke up feeling very playful, uh? You know, the neighbors are starting to talk, someone saw you today walking out of the girls’ house with the same clothes as yesterday. Nosy neighbors, where’s the decency in kids right now?” He asked, making fun of him since Noah himself had been the neighbor who saw him walk out of Dal’s place early in the morning.

😛 Stick their tongue out at my muse

Dal thought these conversations were only in lame teenage movies, but here they were, actually discussing who loved each other more. And of course, Dal thought she had the upper hand in this. But Thomas kept insisting, even sticking his tongue out, which of course made Dal attack him with hearts made with her fingers. “You’re not winning this, I love you more, end of the discussion!”

😱 Make a silly face at my muse

“Honey, I’m going to take a picture of you and show it to cupcake Dal, she’s going to doubt her reasons to date you if she sees how ugly you truly are” He said with a chuckle as Tom made funny faces from the table where he was waiting for Shawn, as the best roommate he was, to bring his food.  “I’m trying new recipes so you better be honest and tell me if this is too greasy, even when I’m sure you’d like it, be honest, okay babe?”

A laugh started to escape his lips but it quickly turned into a cough as his lungs were already currently fighting for air. The cough continued and it knocked him over, he started waving his hand towards her direction cause he knew she’d start coming after him. Once his lungs finally got enough air though he straightened up slowly. “I’m fine... I’m fine.”
