Welcome to Pitt Prompts. This admin has seen that creative parts of The Pitt fandom on Tumblr thrives upon submitted prompts. These prompts are submitted to individual blogs, which means others do not necessarily have the opportunity to create fanworks inspired by them. This project aims to rectify that, allowing any creative person to find prompts that inspire them. This post will introduce the project and how it operates.

I have a prompt. Great. Submit it via the blog ask box. Add all necessary details. Suggested details are ships and headcanons you would like to be included, and—likewise—aspects you would not like to be included. An example prompt might read: Robby returns from his sabbatical and finds Dennis in his home in a compromising position. Smut ensues. Top!Dennis only. No watersports or omegaverse. Your prompt will be posted on the blog. Creative fandom members are then welcome to use it as inspiration for fanworks. 

What kind of prompts can I submit? All genres of ideas and all ships are welcomed. If anyone responds cruelly to a prompt’s contents, they will be swiftly blocked. 

I have fulfilled a prompt. Great. You may post your fanwork as a reblog attached to the original prompt post, or, if you posted your story to A03, please reply to the original prompt post with a link. This allows the prompter and blog visitors to find it. 

Someone else already fulfilled a prompt. Can I still make a fanwork inspired by it? Absolutely. Fandom should operate on a two cakes mindset. The more creativity, the better. 

Do I have to faithfully follow the prompt? Not strictly, no. Prompts are only intended as the initial seeds of inspiration. They are not intended as stringent creative briefs. The prompt fulfiller should maintain creative freedom. 

I want to find specific types of prompts. Where do I find them? As this blog grows, a catalogue of tags will grow with it. This admin will tag each prompt post with the related tags. For example, the above prompt may be tagged: #Hucklerobby #Smut #Top!Dennis. This will make the blog easily navigable. 

If there are any follow-up questions, this admin is happy to provide clarification. It is this admin’s singular hope that the Pitt Prompts blog will encourage creativity in this fandom. Thank you.

Robby and Jack talk about Whitaker Pt. 2

Robby pretended to look for his wallet so he had an excuse to look away.

“That over there isn’t ‘easy,’ Robby. And it sure as shit isn’t medicine for your blood pressure.” Jack tilted his beer bottle in Whitaker’s direction. “That’s 10cc’s of morphine straight to the veins. And the next time - ” the scrape of chair legs sounded as Jack leaned forward across the table, craning his neck to catch Robby’s eye again, “The next time it’s gonna take 20cc’s, then 30, then it’s a bag wide open and it’s me dragging your ass to rehab when you’re so gone for that kid you start slipping. When you start letting that shit bleed into work and you go looking for your next fix in an on-call room in the middle of a shift.”

Shaking his head like an over-tired parent who’d had this talk too many times before, Jack stood. Stretching, he reached for his jacket and slid it on. “And in case you don’t get the metaphor, rehab is HR. Who I’ll have to get involved to save you and your job from yourself if you don’t keep this under control.”

“How’s Mohan?” The question wasn’t Robby judging him, it was Robby holding up a mirror.

The thin press of Jack’s mouth as he suddenly found something interesting on the wall over Robby’s shoulder was answer enough.

“Denial is a river…,” Robby muttered, reaching down to pat his pocket for a lighter.

Jack’s gaze cut down to him. “I don’t know how Mohan is Robby, you know why? Because she and I aren’t out at a dive bar together right now making stupid decisions, seeing as I’m her attending and she’s my resident. She’s probably home. Maybe with an age appropriate boyfriend who isn’t her direct superior. We call that professional boundaries in case you’re wondering.”

“And I call it bullshit.” Robby’s tone turned sharp for the first time. Jack’s posture went rigid like a soldier snapping to attention. He opened his mouth but Robby held up a hand.

“If you want to go home to a cold, empty bed so you can feel good about dying behind the line you drew in the sand, so be it. But Whitaker - and Mohan for that matter - are adults who can make adult decisions. And we spend every damn day killing ourselves to keep others alive.” Robby knocked his lighter on the table like a judge striking their gavel. Verdict reached. Guilty on all charges. He was a man condemned, but he’d take the punishment every time if choosing Dennis was the crime. “Maybe I’m playing with fire but if that’s what it takes to stay warm, so be it.”
