It says something about our family that I have to ask “So did Uncle Joe end up getting arrested at his wife’s funeral or did Uncle John pull some strings so it was after?”

Is it possible for me to go to a craft store and not buy fabric? So far the evidence has been no. I don’t even have a project for this one yet. I still bought it.

For reference this is what used to be in the case
[The art and culture of the United States is exceptionally diverse, with contributions from a wide variety of different groups over the nation’s 250-year history. However, the narrative of American art in most museums has tended to focus primarily on the achievements of white male artists working in a European tradition. Our upcoming reinstallation of the American galleries will address this narrow focus by combining Eurocentric painting and sculpture with the Native American art in these cases, and will also include new additions of contemporary art, decorative arts, and furniture. Opening in June 2021, this installation will present a more diverse and wide-ranging overview of art in the Americas, and explain how these historical works continue to influence our views of nationhood and citizenship in the present day.]
This is what is now in the case
Nothing else has changed. And I am filled with unhallowed rage. I swear that if this is all they plan to do I am going to make an analysis of this gallery and it’s Eurocentric racist colonialist affronts so thorough and scathing that the board will be hiding their giblets in fear of my very presence.
If it is still like this next week (because I know it takes time for exhibits to install and this isn’t on them, the curators will be held accountable for content though) then I start raising hell.
